ohhhh Connie, that's wonderful!!!! I knew you'd get you a new buddy. He won't replace Poof, but he'll bring his own wonderful personality into your life. As for the blind kitty-cat, you know what I'd say: GO FOR IT! They will help each other out.
I think that is awesome that you are working on adoptions for 55 dogs! Here's an idea, if you haven't thought of it yet... Call your local cinema and see if they will let you put photos of dogs available for adoption on posters on tripods in the lobby for people leaving "Hotel for Dogs," which opens on Friday. I called my shelter today with that idea, and my friend the director said the movie theatre employees already thought of it and came and took photos themselves last Friday. I think that is awesome. She said they were all kids... the teen employees who work there (Carmike Cinemas) thought of it and are making it happen. Be sure to include the PetFinders.org website, because lots of cats and dogs are listed there.

My orange cat looks just like Simba, and as a kitten he looked like the young Simba. But son wanted to name him Sylvester, go figure. So we call him Sylvester Simba.
