Based on a recent discussion in the Concert Trading Forum,
I post the following question:
How many Buffett concert sites are either demolished or no longer active?
1. The Charlotte Coliseum (1988-2007).
2. AstroWorld
3. Miami Marine Stadium (where Live By the Bay was filmed) has been in a state of ruin for several years

If we listen to SirGumby (or whatever his screen name is this month), Alpine Valley has been scheduled for demolition for at least the last 5 summers...

In Milwaukee, he used to play Summerfest quite often.
While Summerfest is still there, the old Main Stage that he performed on many times was demolished years ago.

For some reason, I remember Buffett saying that he played at Paul's Mall here in Boston. That venue hasn't been around since the early 1980s (at the latest).

Lake Compounce, Bristol CT. Played a few years there in the late 80's/early 90's. Park is still there, but there's a rollercoaster where the ampitheater used to be.

No longer standing is the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum (aka The New Haven Coliseum) and while Lake Compounce is still standing and operating as an amusement park, their concert stage is gone.

You beat me by "that" much.

I didn't think anyone else remembered him playing at the Lake.

Saw one of his best shows at the West Palm Beach (FL) Auditorium. I believe it was the Volcano tour and the show opened with him playing at a bar, just him and an acoustic guitar (the original Coral Reefers). The curtains opened (remember those?) and there was a real bar, bartender, waitress, a phone booth (remember THOSE?), and a couple tables with people being served on stage. Before he came out a phone was heard ringing and one of the people at a table got up, answered the phone and said, "Jimmy? No, there's nobody named Jimmy here" and hung up as Jimmy entered from around the bar carrying a guitar and a stool. It was cool because the waitress pretty much ignored him while he played and kept walking in front of him. He played about 10 songs then announced that everyone was invited to the beach party down the street. The curtains closed and after the break the stage was set up like a beach and the CRB joined him for the rest of the show. It was a great show.
Anyway, the WPBA was sold in the 90's to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc. It is now used as a convention center for Jehovah's Witnesses. I doubt Jimmy will play that venue again.
And, if I am not mistaken, I believe he played at Pirate's World in Dania, FL, in the 70's.

Might as well make it six. "I heard that they were going to doze it all down for condos and put in a water park"

The backyard is gone?
Used to have a job back in 2000-2001 that required me to go down to Austin once a month for a week. I enjoyed going to the Backyard to see shows.

Although it does not appear in the list of Venues Jimmy has mentioned playing at the "Golden Bear" in Huntington Beach, CA which was torn down in 1986.
