1974 Concert Vault Magic from Jimmy Buffett

Post by surfpirate »

As a result of a discussion I've been involved in elsewhere on this big world wide web I've decided to *unlock* a special members only feature at CrittervilleCove.com. I'll leave this page *unlocked* for a few weeks before it once again becomes a members-only page for Critterville Cove.

At the following link: http://bncritters.ning.com/page/concertvault-1

you'll find some Concert Vault treasures from two 1974 Jimmy Buffett *live* recording sessions (a very small audience) that were done at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California.

Take your time and listen to the recordings one-at-a-time and in order beginning with the 2/14/74 session. You'll hear Jimmy at his golden and young voiced best (the acoustics and recordings are fantastic). You'll also hear Jimmy making many, many *1974 era references* (Evil Knievel, the 1974 Energy Crisis, Richard Nixon, Walter Cronkite, Buford Pusser (Walking Tall) and much, much more. Jimmy is very (very) *loose* at these sessions and tells plenty of stories between the songs. He tells a hilarious story about the 7 mile bridge to Key West on the recording "A Peddler Not A Pusher".

With Jimmy at these sessions are:

Tommy Cogbill - Bass
Sammy Creason - Drums
Lanny Fiel - Guitar
Greg "Fingers" Taylor - Harmonica
Micheal Utley - Keyboards
Reggie Young - Guitar
Roger Bartlett - Guitar

Like I said, these are 1974 Concert Vault Treasures gathered together in one place for you to listen. Enjoy!

These rare concerts were first made available through the Bill Graham site Wolfgang's Vault where they're also available for purchase:

The Critterville Cove pages contain the "embed" code that Concert Vault (Wolfgang's Vault) provides for just this purpose .... "streaming" The World’s Greatest Collection of Vintage Concert Recordings.

Follow the links and check them out ..... these two 1974 Jimmy Buffett shows are just the tip of the iceberg. They have thousands of great recordings from hundreds of artists available for streaming and purchase.

you know, the 35th anniversary of this show is coming up, it would be cool if RM played this as a concert replay on Feb 19th.
