Re: Your Favorite Comic?
OK so my favorites I have seen
Red Skeleton
Tom Poston
Bill Raferty
Dianne Ford.. (SP)
with them it is the Timing.. they could read my laundry list.. and be funny,
the jokes may have been old and told.. but the timing is just there.
Gallagher
Bill Cosby
Jeff Dunham
Willy Tyler and Lester.
Robin Williams (XXX show in Tahoe years ago)
they are all funny.. but IMHO they do not have the timing the first list has,
their material has to be good.. if not they bomb
ones I want to see.
Ron White.
Donnie Baker (yes I know He is an alter ego.. But )
some of the young guns that are on the Bob and Tom show..
my biggest let down??
George Carlin.. He was not the wordsmith in the show I saw..
He was telling Scat jokes..
I will give a review on Cheech and Chong after I see them..

The way his TV show "NEWHART" ended was probably the best ending of any TV show in history, I.M.O.chippewa wrote:Is this list limited to "professionals"? If not, I'll say Bits.
Penny, I love Bob Newhart, too. Saw him just a couple of years ago and he's still funny.

Re: Your Favorite Comic?
I love Bill Engvall (largely because I just think he's cute for some reason)
John Pinette (on Canadian TV a lot)
Ron White (You can't fix stupid - but I can fix his name as I had it wrong *edit)
Jeff Foxworthy
But my all time favorite is Robin Williams.
I've seen his appearance on "The Actor's Studio" so many times I almost know it by heart, but I never ever miss it. He's one of those people, like Jimmy, who if I ever were to meet him in person I think I'd be struck speechless.

Agreed, that was a great ending to a wonderful TV show.....unlike the final "Seinfeld" episode!Wino you know wrote:The way his TV show "NEWHART" ended was probably the best ending of any TV show in history, I.M.O.chippewa wrote:Is this list limited to "professionals"? If not, I'll say Bits.

I saw Bobby Collins in NJ and nearly emptied my bladder. I was laughing so much I couldn't keep up with his jokes... Anybody else ever hear or see Bobby Collins??????
Saw him again in Columbia, SC, and he had to change his act because most of his bits were about the people in the audience! He had to change the jokes to Clemson jokes. I was laughing so much he picked on me. But as he continued he realized that I got the jokes when the others didn't. Then we were confidantes. He kept looking at me like "you get it, right?". He is a very funny guy.

Thanks for your perspective on this comic. I've never seen him perform, but would like to someday.......Y-NO-9-O wrote:I saw Bobby Collins in NJ and nearly emptied my bladder. Re: Your Favorite Comic?
Stephen Lynch. An amazing singer, guitarist comedian. His routine is all songs and are quite over the top. You shouldn't be laughing but you can't help it. Two favs, "Special" and "Damn That's an Ugly Baby". Also starred in "The Wedding Singer" on Broadway. Touring this spring. If you like twisted humor, check him out.

I like comics with a bit of an edge (or a whole lot of edge).
Chris Rock
Richard Pryor
George Carlin (the early years)
Jim Norton
Lisa Lampanelli (and I HATE female comics for the most part)
Craig Shoemaker (Magic Johnson's co-host on that awful show)
Nick DiPaolo
