This will be my first year going to the Knob after the last few at Alpine and Chicago (Tinley) at the time. How do they compare??

It's pretty comparable to Tinley tailgate wise (although they do have a huge lack of port a potties), but the sound is better.

That's to bad, Tinley was pretty tame. Alpine's been awesome the last two years so I'm prepared for a minor letdown, but still pumped nonetheless. I've heard good things about the Knob.

What about the atmosphere with so fewer amount of people?

I prefer tame to total chaos :P The one and only time I went to Alpine I literally thought we were going to die. :o I've never seen such stupid crowd control in my life. People on horseback were herding people into an area that couldn't hold them all and we were nearly crushed.

I enjoy Pine Knob....too bad I can never get ticket to go there :P

You're so right...! ha. I had a near-death leaving the lot last year. Nearly impossible. I had a drunk hop in my Jeep, luckily he was a friendly one. Add that to the people practically grinding on my Jeep, it was quite an exit.

Nontheless..still an epic experience.

It would be great if Mac did a concert the night before. Last year there was Mac in one venue and Club Trini (or another group of Reefers) in another one, far, far away. I hope they can get their acts together a bit better this year!

Did I hear (Longboard) Al--OMiTT say he was hosting the post-party weekend? [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Negative, Mac did not play alone in Detroit last year. However there were several reefers (including Michigan's own, Fingers Taylor) at the bash put on the night before the show by the Detroit PHC. Stay tuned for details, they'll be posted on page 1, post 1 as we release them over the summer. 8)

I'm not too worried.....although looks like I'm going for lawn this year so not sure how that will go (wife may go if I buy lawns....No way will she put out $137+ for a pavilion though).
If she decides not to go then I'll just sell the lawns and score me a pavilion later.
I've got an inside connection but I think he'd only be good for pavilion seats. He took care of my friends last year.....lined him for this year just in case! :o

Here's a computer tip.....don't get too discouraged if you can't read the first word of the 2 word ticketmaster password. I've found that if you put down enough keystrokes it doesn't matter what the hell you typed for the first word. Try that before you get frustrated & just click the "can't read password" button.

I'm Worried!!!
Computer let me down....SHUT OUT! I couldn't even pull up a single pavilion!
Inside connection is on the case......once he gets back from a bus tour he's taking to Europe. I asked....what are you taking....the U.S.S. Greyhound. How do you TAKE A BUS TOUR TO Europe?? :o So once again I say....I'm not too worried. Still may shoot for some Cincy tix just in case!

Yeah, you heard right.
I think I said the "post-party weekend", which would imply Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Wait, that would be the post-concert weekend.
What the heck, why not?
We've got nothing else planned that weekend!
Throw all the leftovers into the Sprinter after the tailgate (you don't really want to drive anywhere with all that stuff anyway, right, especially the booze?),
and enjoy them once again at the LBLH Friday, Sat, and Sun.

I guess I meant post-concert  party, but it's all one big party, isn't it? Did you get tickets yet? I am hoping the Toronto club can still get its tickets from the Detroit club.... with Jimmy coming to TO later, there may be some problem. (And I can't go to TO)....

Friday I double checked w/ my "ticket guy", and he said "Don't worry, I'll get them".
I didn't bother trying for any Sat morning because I didn't want to get stuck w/ any extras.
Had I known that this year would be just as hard as in the past, I would have tried for 6 just in case. and could have easily sold them to others.
Yesterday he told me that he thinks that he can get them!
Great
LBLH will be the place to hang anyway, tickets or not.
BTW, last year he told me to pick up the tickets at will call. No prob, I trusted him.
I DIDN'T realize though that when driving in they asked to see tickets!
I told the guard that they were waiting for me at will call, and he let me in no problem.
I assume this year will be the same thing.
Sooooooooo...............,
if my ticket guy doesn't come through this year, I just guess that on my way in to the tailgate I'll know what to tell the guard!
Not that I'm suggesting that to anyone else or anything..............

I guess I understand their policy.....if they ask to see someones tix & the person is hammered AND empty handed...do no admit....but the fact is they should be soft about enforcing it as they should KNOW that many pholks will go ticket searching in the parking lot.....plus the will-call thing sometimes comes into play....plus there is sometimes a ticket drop at the window shortly before showtime! Bottom line.....LET EVERYBODY IN TO JOIN THE PINE KNOB PHLOCKING!!! :pirate: 8) My 2 cents!
