"I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back". - John Riggins to the media after returning to training camp in 1981 with a new contract, following an 11 month holdout.

Riggins's nightlife drew as much attention as his on-field exploits. In 1985, at a Washington Press Club dinner, an intoxicated Riggins infamously told Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor: "Come on, Sandy Baby, loosen up. You're too tight," then passed out on the floor.

Livening the Party He was in high spirits during the cocktail hour, and by the time the soup was served he was the life of the party, but when they got ready for the speeches, John Riggins had apparently had enough. So the Washington Redskins fullback stretched out and went to sleep. By then, according to an Associated Press report, most of the guests at his table agreed, Riggins had done his part to liven the Washington Press Club's annual salute to Congress, which drew more than 1,000 journalists and local celebrities to the Washington Sheraton Wednesday night.

Riggins provided one of the evening's most memorable moments when he called across the table to the Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor : ''Come on, Sandy baby, loosen up. You're too tight.'' Riggins, who complained of back pains during the dinner and at one point asked for an adjustment to his chair, got up and walked around, kneeled next to Justice O'Connor's husband, John, then dropped to one elbow and finally stretched out altogether, poking his cowboy boots under a guest's chair. One guest said Riggins had slept for about an hour, first on his back and later on his stomach, snoring occasionally. After the speeches were concluded, Riggins was roused and escorted from the room.

Since retiring from professional football, Riggins has worked as a sports commentator on television and radio, and is a popular, near-notorious, figure in the Washington D.C. area. In 1994, he began acting lessons and has since starred in off-off-Broadway productions of the plays Gillette and A Midsummer Night's Dream (in which he played Bottom). His television credits include Guiding Light and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Interestingly, Sandra Day O'Connor came to one of Riggins' first plays in a small theatre in Olney, Maryland, and asked Riggins to autograph a football for her.

Riggins was one of the greatest running backs of his era, but if nothing else, Riggo brought *style* to pro football. Riggo had some of the greatest hair ever seen in the NFL.

For all his off the field antics, he was one of the toughest fullbacks ever, and a class guy *on the field*. After every touchdown he simply handed the ball to the official.

I read that she went to his opening night and told Riggins that despite the night at the dinner, she had always thought he was a class act.

So the moral of these past few strips is drink pharmade and get hot chicks?
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Ummm, right. You see, much like L. Ron Hubbard, within the writings and storylines that make up the BN Critters comic strip, you will find a deep embedded body of beliefs and related practices that form the foundation of the true way to find introspective learning and to understand the world.
A kind of Critterology if you will.
