I don't know if anyone is aware that Mike Broward from "Stars on the Water" has now moved on with his own solo career in Trop Rock. I picked up his cd "Parrothead Rehab" today and all I can say is that he has raised the bar for all of us out there who play this drunk rock n roll carribean music....
The production and writing is outstanding. I really didn't know what to expect when I bought the cd. I listened to a few clips on cd baby and thought it sounded really good...but I must say that was a understatment.

Mike if you are out there you have created a instant classic my friend and in the middle of recording my follow up to "Life on the Gulf" I feel like I should go back and rethink a few things.....sh*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone is interested here is a link to his cdbaby page....

I haven't heard the album yet, but I know Mike and enjoy his music.

One of my favorite Mike songs from his Stars days is "What Happens in Key West, Never Happened." I've finally gotten around to covering that one; I guess I may need to get Mike's new album to see what else I want to play. :)

This cd ROCKS!!! Got mine yesterday.....

Just like Jake mentioned the production is top notch (which lacks with a lot or Trop Rockers, but I still like'em) I have never heard of Mike until now so thanks!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the good vibes about the CD! I made " Parrothead Rehab" just for all of the wonderful people that have supported my attempt at music for so long now. I had a lot of wonderful help on this "album" ( I can't help calling it that, I'm old). The musicians, and co-producer/ engineer really lifted this project up to a new level for me. I must also mention that Brandon Keoni Beven, from the Salt Lake Parrothead club did a fantastic job on the artwork. That alone is really worth the price of the CD. anyway, Thanks so much for your suport and I'll log back in with other tidbits about my music.
Here's a blurb about the cd-

This all new release features some of Nashville's' more prominent and respected musicians tailoring music for the Trop- Rock crowd. The songs are Parrothead inspired and written with the end result of you popping a cold one and relaxing into the music. The theme of the album is escapism at its' core. Tropical vacations, Southern girls, all of the things you would rather be doing than working and paying bills.

Mike Broward is joined by producer/ engineer, P.T. Houston in this Nashville recording with musicians, Brian Pruitt on drums and percussion, Brian Davidson on guitars and Mandolin, Mike Rojos on keys and accordion, Don Kerse on Bass, Doyle Grisham on pedal steel and dobro, and Don Sheffield on trumpet.

The track titles tell you where you're going.

Parrothead Rehab, Just Not Today, Floribama, The Road To Rum, I want to Quit My Job, Lucky Man, Alligators, Lighten Up!, and It's Conga Time, suggest a variety of scenes while tying in an overall vibe of Island adventure.
Check it out!
