As long as it doesn't rain for 3 days prior and all day of the concert like Buckeye Lake in 94, we should be ok. But then the craziest mud slidin views and muddin adventures I've ever seen happened that day! I've got gear and 4 wheel drive so let it rain.......

Whats the best place to put in? Anybody know if Four Season you can pay to luanch there?

Whats the drinking policy on the river? Everybody pretty much drinks in cups and not much hassle from the coast guard/cops?

How deep is the river there to drop a anchor or does everyone tie up to shore or to other boats??

Any other advice for a first time doing the Ohio River for Buffet

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

We have never done buffett from the river, I take my seat in the pavilion or party on the lawn.....one year I .....well thats another story. But I do have a boat and play on the ohio river regularly.

There is a boat ramp at Coney Island/ Riverbend but I am not sure what the fee is to launch. Four seasons will charge you but not sure. There is a public boat ramp close to 4 seasons on kellogg, Schmidt Field Public Boat Ramp(Humbert Ave): Run by City of Cincinnati. Located 2 miles east of downtown Cincinnati off River Road (on the east side this is rt 52 or Kellogg ave). Ample parking, concession stand, ball fields, ramps open to public for fee. Directly on Ohio River at mile marker 466.5.

Kentucky law enforcement patrols the river, their policy on drinking on the river is pretty much the same as driving on the highway. There are plenty of bars on the river to get tanked at so the rule of thumb is if you get caught you are busted.  I will warn you they have stepped patrol on careless boaters in the last two years.

The depth of the water will depend on the amount of rain we get, it has been raining off and on for the past few days, as matter fact it is thundering outside as I write and is suppose to rain more this week. So I can not be sure how deep the water is the but we can't drop anchor, we always have to tie up.

So what are you bringing in? Whats her name....the boat?  Let me know if you have any other Q's
