IL Governor removed from office

Post by moeron »

Rod Blagojevich has been removed from office. He was impeached and convicted by the Senate in IL. He still has not been convicted in a criminal court. In IL they can remove the Governor for almost any reason.

So, Right now he is innocent, ( in a court of law) but still he's out of a job.

It's called impeachment. The process was carried out in accordance with state law.

Before you blame Dick Cheney or any other member of the GOP, you should be aware that more Democrats (37) voted to remove Blagojevich from office than Republicans (22).

Some day (when they are finished running the great state of Texas) the Chicago Tribune will convene a panel of former Governors to review this matter. Otto Kerner, Dan Walker and George Ryan will probably agree that Rod Blagojevich might not be guilty of corruption.

Not so amusing if you live in Illinois

Meanwhile, he retains his pension until (if) he is convicted in a criminal court.

Kidding aside, we can only hope. Totally disgusting excuse for a human being.

He should have been impeached years ago....for having a weird last name and even weirder hair.

Maybe he should have spent some time defending himself in front of the people who were trying him, instead of doing the talk-show circuit and getting all huggy-huggy with Geraldo Rivera.

The reason Rod hit the talk show circuit was he knew he was done and was starting to appeal to the possible jurors for his Federal trial. Him showing up yesterday for the closing arguements was a complete and utter joke. Then he hopped on a private plane, paid for by the citzens of Illinois, to fly back to Chicago before he got impeached and stripped of everything.

I really think his best hope is to go with the insanity plea....
