Since the date is rapidly approaching confirmation from multiple sources, I thought I'd perform the vital service of starting this thread. :)

More in a bit.

Perhaps more apropos: Where in the heck does one party for this ahead of time?

A couple of our club folks live in Walnut Creek and are talking about pre- and post-concert parties at their place...but that's probably not the type of thing to invite the world to. :(

Also, we're hearing $156 for seats. There's quite a bit of enthusiasm for sitting on the lawn this time.

I'm going, what's the tailgate policy for the Sleeptrain pavilion?

I remember Jimmy played here on a Sunday afternoon, I beleive it was in the 1990's. What a great concert it was. It was before the remodel and the lawn was twice as big and close

This is kind of a cool picture:

That's my kind of territory :D

This is a possibility, but if he plays the SB bowl again, I will be going there instead as I have a free place to stay nearby.

you think Jimmy is popluar enough to play the Super Bowl?

That'd be cool, just don't know if he'd draw enough advertising money......tee-hee

I had a long-distance, high school relationship with a dude who grew up in the Concord/Walnut Creek area.

IS this show really going to happen? I just can't see him playing there. I have a friend who lives in Concord and we were just talking about me coming out there and if Jimmy will be there I will plan accordingly.

Finz83, there was a 1/4 page add in this Friday's paper and the tickets go on sale Monday Feb. 9th at 10am. This is way cool. I live 15 minutes away.

I've heard secondhand through Live Nation, secondhand through a contact at a local radio station that will be giving away tickets who heard it directly from Live Nation, and secondhand from one additional source whom I cannot remember. (It's my CRS actin' up again.)

So yeah...I'm a bit out on a limb here, but it's neither a very long one nor a particularly fragile one, and close to the ground. :)

We don't really have much by way of good venues out here for pre-concert partying, it seems. :( But because we're Parrotheads, we'll manage...somehow. :pirate:

I used to live in Concord. If this is going to happen I will have to convince my friend, who lives in Concord, to experience her first buffett show with me. Also I am going to have to make a trip out there work during the week. I wish the show was on a Saturday, that would be extremely more helpful.

Every day's a holiday, man...you've just gotta have the right mindset. :)

Seriously...I don't remember the last time we got a Saturday show in the Bay Area. Actually, I do...I think it was March 2001; he did a Thursday show in Oakland and a Saturday show in San Jose. But I don't think it's happened since then.

I was at both those shows in 2001. We will just have to wait and see if this show happens.

St Patricks Day 2001, March 17. I met Jeepgirl at the show on that seminal day ...

I just saw the Live Nation press release; it's official. :)

So...who's going, and where the heck are we gonna party?
