It was okay, I think I enjoyed Tom Petty's Superbowl performance over his but that might just be me. I was never a huge Bruce fan. :pirate:

It sure beat watching "Up With People"....

I wonder what the Super Bowl does after Bruce, they have been on a pretty good roll the past few years

Although I'm not much of a Bruce Springsteen fan, I do have a couple of his C.D.s and, watching the half time show, thought he looked really good and gave a pretty darn good preformance.
The E Street Band was simply electrifying.

A lot of fun to watch.

The show he put on was pure, classic Bruce. It was GREAT!! 8)

It's part of his "schtick" to look and act completely spent, cuz he does put 110% into his effort.
and right when he looks like he's gonna keel over... he gives you just a little more.

How many 59 yr-olds do you see sliding across stages, anyways?
He makes Jimmy look like he should performing in a rocking chair  (but we still luvs ya' Jimmy! 8) )

I love it! But, then, I'm a huge Bruce fan. :D However, most of the people at our party left during halftime to get more food and drink. [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Since they've had Paul McCartney, Prince and now Bruce, I really think it's time for Jimmy at halftime - complete with a giant blender, giant parrots and special field admittance to BN members! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

It was better than I expected, especially after seeing his performance at Obama's inauguration concert. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get good seats for the Springsteen concert going on sale this morning.
I've never seen Bruce live & I thought it was pretty good, good enough I just picked up tix for his show in East Ruthorford for May.

And by the way, Ticketmaster still s^x
Ticketmaster does s^x. I have been on for 30 min trying to get Bruce tix and I keep getting
Our ticketing system is currently unavailable due to routine maintenance. Please check back at a later time. WTF!!! I hate them!

I am glad you got tix Tropic Al! :D
Thanks. Have to get lucky once in awhile. I tried to go back in & I got that "maintenance" message too. Good luck w/your quest for tix.

I requested them by Mail, hope they get our request in time, Bonnie says she will give us the $45.00 price for our 3 tickets. I could not get that link to work, many of us tried, but no luck... See you there, Doc, me and Bahama Mama :)

I gotta agree. Ive been a fan of Bruce for 25 years. Where Jimmys my escape Bruce is like a religion.

I was so against this Super Bowl thing. But i think he did a helluva job. For those not liking it thinking he was out of shape couldnt sing and what not, I challange you to go to a show and witness the earth quakin heart breakin booty shakin vigra takin legendary e street band.

The Hershey show was almost 3 and a half hours no intermission. I dare any performer today to attempt that.

And like I tell those that dont understand whats its like to be a parrot head - a Jimmy fan you either get Bruce or you dont. You either get Jimmy or you dont.

I wish he would have had the nards to do Born In The U.S.A. but I'm sure he did not want to offend those that were not. Two of the songs I did not know. He got "Disneyland" wrong at the end. But then I've never been a big fan of Bruce (aka "Skynyrd for yankees").
Seems like all he does is grunt anymore. I'd like to see more younger bands such as Foo Fighters and the like. Metallica would rock but will never happen.
Imo it willl be hard to top Prince doing Purple Rain in the rain.

Its not that he lacked nards to do Born in the USA as to not offend those that werent born here. The song is about a returning VietNam Vet and the way some of us treated them when they returned home. But what do I know Im not big on the Foo fighters and those younger bands. And I gave up on Metallica after the Black album.(If Bruce grunts what does James do sing like songbird).

Any feeling on Jimmy doing Halftime?

The last 5 or 6 years they have put on an incredible show. It would be great to see Jimmy do it. With only time to do 4 numbers we'd get Margaritaville, Fins, Volcano and Cheeseburger, though. And it couldn't hurt his ticket sales....(what do I care, I can't afford them anyway even if I could get my hands on them. :) )

Last new song I heard by Bruce was Radio Nowhere and his voice sounded like he was on the can
As for Jimmy doing halftime, I once was for it but now it's like the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, a badge of honor not to be there.
I'll admit Bruce had lots of energy just not my bag.

I think he plans to do that for the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

COME ON!
At least there were no wardrobe malfunctions.

Tell that to the cameraman who got nailed full on by the Boss' babalones after that slip-slide across the stage :o

His private parts weren't openly exposed to the public and the slide into the camera man wasn't planned.

Such was not the case a few years ago by a certain female member of a certain family with roots in the midwest.
