Don't think you did; it's just that the end of August is still a fair ways off. Those of us that are going have already gotten our tickets and made our sleeping arrangements; we pretty much know where the big pre-concert blowout is going to be; and now (speaking for myself anyway) we're just cruising with the wind, conserving energy and laying in supplies until then.
I predict things will start to pick up again after 4th of July......and really get hot after the first Chicago show.

So...with me not planning my usual big bash, I was wondering what others are up to for the Alpine show.

Me...I'll be happy to join if anyone puts together a big BN Bash....but otherwise, it'll be me, my neighbors, my cousins, and some local friends for a smaller tailgate party this year. I'll still come looking for y'all...

So...is anything bigger being planned? Anyone?

I am bringing up a charter bus full of peeps again this year. We will have a big spread as usual, including "the wheel". I am bringing food and punch for those on the bus, but everyone is welcome to join us for drinks or to hang out and watch the wheel. We will also have lots of jello shots again this year.

Concerning Alpine Valley —
This is my first concert ever at Alpine (Jimmy or anybody else). I've got lawn tickets. I know I'm not going to be real close to the stage, but wonder if you can actually see anything at all on stage or if one needs to depend on the huge "ParrotVision" screens to the side of the stage.

I was also thinking of bringing a pair of compact 10x binoculars. Will Alpine Valley personnel allow something like that to be brought onsite, or will I have to smuggle them in somehow?

Alpine Valley has a policy of no cameras etc but there always seems to be several thousand that get in. I would plan on smuggling them in. Make sure that if they take them that your not out too much money.

The Harmony Bar in Madison, WI is once again the destination for parrot heads to dance and sing along with local musician Chuck Bayuk as he plays the songs of Jimmy Buffett. Chuck will be joined by a crew of notable local musicians, the Drunken Sailors.

This annual fundraiser benefits the programs of the Goodman Atwood Community Center. Donation at the door is $8.

The lawn at Alpine is HUGE, but it has a great view of the stage. It's a very nice layout. The problem is, with it being so large, everyone knows that there are thousands of others jockying for position, and a lot of lawn tickets head in early. The gates open at 6:00 (I think)...if you want a good spot, you might need to end the parking lot party early and head inside. The upper lawn is still a good time, but you do need to rely on Parrotvision up there...

In preparation for Alpine and wishing it was closer, I am spending the next two weeks in California. Two weeks of sand and sun should help tide me over til August. I am going north of LA to a Navy base called Point Mugu, anyone know any good bars around there?
