That is all I can be happy about -I was looking for the "ark" yesterday!!!! I am positive that we are going to have great weather like we had last year!!!!!!! (I've had a really crappy 2009 so far -so if we can just have a great weather day it will make up for everything else!!)

Ugh, I am so sick of the rain. We bought a ticket to the US Open for my nephew over a year ago as a graduation present. Thankfully he went on Friday when there wasn't a deluge of rain. My sister said, though, that he was covered in mud when he walked through the door. Had a great time though.

Wait.. is that a hint of sun peeking through the clouds? Aw, can't get my hopes up yet.

Parking lot opening time
Parking pass details (purchase ahead of time? purchase at gate? free at gate? have to have ticket to concert?)
Tailgate location once inside the parking lot
Carpooling

Parking lot opening time: Early! It's a beach, we are very, very early.
Parking pass: Don't get premium parking, not worth it. Purchase parking on the way in. Again it's a beach, no need for a concert ticket. Where we park is close enough to the gate.
Tailgate location: Facing the concessions/bath house, to the left. Right along the fence seperating the premium & regular parking. Right near the Margaritaville bus. A lot of BN'ers end up there.
The other I can't help you with, I bring a small rv.
If you get there later, they send you to outlying spots, depends on your arrival time.

Well, no. I'm there before the gate people are. I have heard rumors of people having to pay on the way in though. I believe they start charging @ 6:00am. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Jones Beach starts charging for tickets at 8 a.m. during the week and 6 a.m. on weekends. Finally getting sunny here on LI!

I enter from Ocean Parkway into the same lot as Al & park right near him by the fence & I never pay to get in -am I just lucky ??- there was only one time where they wanted $$ but I showed them my tkt & they let me in

I have done this too...never had a problem. However, you never know if things will change. Zach's Bay is supposed to be closed in late August, so I'm wondering how they're going to handle the lot that day...will they know enough to open the lots early for Buffett fans?? Will they only open the lot a few hrs before the show? I'm hoping we don't have to tailgate at Field 4, next lot over. No water view from there! I wonder if any BNers know any Jones Beach workers who would give us some info...
