I didn't know the plan was to meet at Margaritaville beforehand???? I'm actually meeting some old co-workers (non parrotheads) for drinks somewhere before LMS...but I'm not sure where we are headed. I'll definitely be at LMS though (may miss Stars on the Water..but will definitely be there for the rest of the evening!)

See everyone tomorrow!

well....

On Friday, 11:00am PST my boss said..."go have a good weekend" :o

by 4:00pm, I'm in Vegas!! I can a ticket anywhere now...:P .... but, damn, it's cooking hot!!

Friends weren't landing 'til late Fri, so headed out solo..
Went by LMS at the Flamingo...it was kinda quiet... hung out at Sin City Brewing Co. met a few PH's

Yesterday, saw the fewest people I've ever seen at a Vegas show :-?
Sizzling hot in the alley at M'ville... boat drinks going straight to head... laugh a lot! ..but too much sun & fun
Head is pounding... semi-sunstroke?... took left turn instead of right at MGM ....head back to room
90+ degrees at 10:00 pm... I remain submerged in hotel swimming pool 8)

Back home by noon today... can't remember ever travelling & partying for Buffett ... yet missing the show... but, oh well
Can't say I was bowled over by the setlist anyway

maybe this Thursday at Irvine?
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!

I will have to say that this years LMS, was, in my opinion the worst. I have been to MANY, including helping to name the first one, and this was the bottom one on the list hands down. I dont know if it was me (although a few people had the same opinion) but it just was not fun. I was semi sober to start, but $40? Come on. Ok, so there are Reefers there (of which Tina has shattered my idea of her by her appearance, I mean pink Hello Kitty guitar and talking about saving bunnies?)....

I maybe getting old for this (41?), but listening to Tommy Rocker sing the words to La Bamba as "taco, taquito... chimichanga" etc.? Put some more cheese on those Tommy, cause you had plenty of it.

Like I said, I was not the only ones expressing this. I even met some old friends from BN (whats up F and L?) the next day and they stated the same thing. We started talking about the old concerts where we partied at Ricardos the night before. That was fun.

And hey LV Parrothead club, whats up with the attitude? I have been a member of our club for 8 years and have never been treated by other clubs the way you were on saturday. You all aint that special.

In my opinion, LV is over priced, over sold and over rated. LMS, you are now in that category too. Although, you can take the over sold part out, cause you were definatley not over sold.

The concert on the other hand, FANTASTIC. Best LV show from Jimmy I have seen in awhile. That is a different story though.

If JB returns in the Fall, we will be there. If you will be too, save your money, avoid LMS and go have fun elsewhere for the night. Saturday alone will make up for it.

Lots of stuff I have not mentioned, but I am sure that will come out later....

I'm sorry that you didn't have a good time at LMS and bummed we didn't see each other this weekend.

I think some of the problems with LMS were actually created by the Flamingo. Unfortunately, they created several demands in order to have the party there and a large alcohol guarantee (which I'm sure wasn't met) will probably mean the end of the party at that location.

Its too bad that Hooters didn't want the event anymore though. The venue was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the prices were affordable. However, I understand that they may be in a little trouble now for promoting a "parrothead" party of thier own without club involvement or permission to use the term.

I don't think many people who were at LMS this year will admit it was as phun or had the energy that previous events did....but parties will always have up and down years. I will definitely be back at future events (whereever they might be) and I hope that you'll reconsider as well.

As for the concert, I have to agree that it was excellent and Jimmy was definitely on his "A" game. I enjoyed it tremendously, but am not surprised at all that the October dates are off with all the unsold tickets to this show. The October cancellation may be due to other reasons (Landshark Stadium, Tahiti, or something else)...but I have to believe MGM would have pulled the plug otherwise if Jimmy hadn't of done so.

Anyways, I have some great pics from the show and I'll try to get them posted tonight. Unfortunately, I didn't get back to New Mexico til almost midnite last evening and just didn't have the energy to upload them at that time.

Just got my photos uploaded from Vegas for anyone who wants to view them. I haven't done any editing to any of them....so some need a little cropping etc. Also, the first 40-50 photos are from LMS and the first 20 or so are pretty bad as I didn't have the proper setting on my camera. The next 250 or so are from the concert and there's some very good ones, some very bad ones, and a lot in between. I think my favorite is #205. The last 6 or so are just the view from my hotel room. Hope you all enjoy!

I thought the LMS was but it was my first. I thought $40 to get in was not over priced. I mean for $40 you got a tshirt, a cheese burger, a drink, and to meet som of the band. And it was at the flamingo pool side. The heat sucked this past weekend.

Hey Mark! It was so nice to meet you. I had fun at LMS. It was nice hanging out with friends, making new friends, and sitting on the edge of the pool with my feet in the water having drinks and enjoying the music. Of course, Ms Sammie provided her own brand of entertainment. She tried to get in the pool, and she stold a cheeseburger from someone. Luckily, the person was a good sport about having their cheeseburger hocked by a cute con artist of a guide dog. For me, the whole weekend was incredible. The concert was excellent. Jimmy was very animated, and the crowd was energized. I will be back in Las Vegas whenever they do it again. Yes, the heat did s***, but what can you do?

Yes, it is for real! Ms Sammie dog and I were on our own for a while on Friday before we hooked up with friends at LMS, so I went to Margaritaville to have lunch, a few perfect mango margaritas, and some wonderful atmosphere. When I walked into Margaritaville it was crowded, but I did not give this a thought. A manager who was helping me to a table casually told me that it was crowded because Jimmy Buffett was in the building, and in fact, he had just walked past me. I sat down, started drinking the first of a few mango margaritas when I heard an all too familiar voice behind me. Sure enough it was Jimmy. He came over and said hi, and when he saw Ms Sammie, he was in love and gave her all kinds of attention. Sammie thought Jimmy was special as well. I gave Jimmy a quick hug and said a simple thank you and that was it. He was there for just a minute or so, but it is a minute that I am so grateful to Jimmy for giving Ms Sammie and I.

Liz-Oh I am so jealous that I did not even see Jimmy in M'ville. I'm surprised because we spent the majority of our time in there or at the street party.
FinsUpInIdaho-I did see you (recognized the license plate), shoulda introduced myself, I actually live in Poky.
Dean_Sui-Thanks for sharing the pictures. I did not take my camera thinking they would not let me and was so disappointed when I got there. A question I should have asked the forum.
This was our first concert and we cannot wait to go again. We are no longer virgins!! We did attend the last 15 minutes of LMS on Friday. The crowd was gone but it was still a good start to our weekend. We had fun at the street party and spent most of the day there except for a few trips into the casino to cool off. And of course the concert was fun and exciting. Everyone was in good moods and happy and we had a blast. Thanks to all for answering all my questions. Hopefully we will see you all again next time.

Technically, cameras are not allowed at the show and I have been asked to stop taking pictures before. However, I think its gotten looser each year and no security or usher even gave me a glance as I snapped away. Glad you enjoyed them!

Thanks for sharing the great pics Dean! LMS did have a different flavor than previous years. They did run out of wine. I really enjoyed Jimmy and the Parrots. What a great new band. Tommy Rocker was not in great form. Have seen better out of them. Concert was great!!! And Liz, how wonderful a treat to meet Jimmy! I am jealous!! Never made it to M'ville this time.
