Buffett’s new record
With his two shows at the Comcast Center, Jimmy Buffett has now played the amphitheater formerly known as Great Woods 51 times. (Yes, that’s a record for a single artist). But that’ll be it for awhile. Chatting backstage, Buffett said he won’t be doing his traditional Labor Day shows in Mansfield this year because the Deutsche Bank Golf Championship has reserved the venue that weekend. All is not lost, however. The man from “Margaritaville’’ said he may be in Nantucket this summer, and could drop by the Chicken Box club.
Now if we just knew WHEN! Oh DP ???? Jon???? Can your CG friends tell us when he docks his boat? [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=battingeyes.gif] pretty please? I can get down there in short order if I have to!

Had a good time despite the hail storm and other nonsense. Didn't get to meet up with as many people as we would of liked because of the parking fiasco, hail storm, and my hubby's fractured toe. We were in lot 12 and unfortunately surrounded by some of the most obnoxious drunk people I have ever seen at a concert. One guy threw his drink into a woman face because as she was taking down her tent she splashed him by mistake. Then a nice fight started. The same guy banged on our window as we were leaving - I thought he was going to break it! People were so drunk (and I believe on some serious drugs) that they were literally having sex as a crowd formed around them! The next morning I discovered that someone puked all over the hood of my car - I guess that was after the rain! I am all for having a good time but when you make everyone's life around you miserable you need to check yourself.

The worst part was when we got to our seat the couple behind us argued pretty much through the whole concert about how she allowed some guy to grab her in the parking lot. He was screaming at her, she was crying (very loudly I might add), their friends tried to get them to leave. We saw security look down the row but they did nothing. It really seemed to be a lack of security both in the parking lots and at the concert.

Where we were park literally became a lake - our car was surrounded by a ankle deep water! It took us 1 1/2 hours to get out of the freaking lot - we got in line immediately and we were on the end of a row. That parking was the WORST of any concert I have ever been to!

Sorry we didn't get to meet up with more of y'all - hopefully next time!

When Jimmy or Jimmy's wife docks their Floating Continent off Nantucket and/or land their plane at the airport it is common knowledge to most on the island and the Vineyard as well. There are no Coconuts out there so we will call it the Quahog Telegraph . . . people just know. I am sure I will get 900 text messages from friends of mine who work in the Harbor or out by the airstrip when he is there. That being said - catching him at the Box if you are only there for a night or two is next to impossible. I will keep you all abreast. :D

Yeah Jon, we know how you feel about BREASTS but will you keep us INFORMED???? :D
Some of us live close enough we could make a quick trip if we get the word.
Just let us know I'm thinking it would most likely have to be July since he has the month off except for London

Yeah, it WOULD be during the week.

I still might do it. If I take my Blackberry I can still work and not count it as vacation!

We were where you first came in on the very end - up against the cement dividers - next to the "woods" where everyone went to pee . The "free" show was a guy who had his girlfriend on one of the cement dividers so she was sitting and he was standing.....a crowd soon formed :o . There was a crowd in front of us under a tent during the hailstorm -- girls kissing girls -- lifting their shirts up for the guys -- then the guys kissing the girls -- it was a scene out of Woodstock - entertaining to say the least! There were two couples from Maine next to us and they were hysterical - the commentary they were providing as this was going on was priceless.....
