Might be coming into town for this show. Few of us are looking at getting a box for the show. Does anyone know if these are still available?

Also since this will coincide with a business trip, does anyone know of any top notch golf courses? Money is no object for this trip, since it will all be put on the company's AMEX's. Anyone a good golfer would would like to join?

Not sure on Suites but I've got 6 together.

Also you can't go wrong with Medinah, Cog Hill, and Olympia Fields which are all in the immediate area. MEdinah and Olympia Fields each hosting US Opens and Cog Hill former site of the Western Open.

Sure hope you don't work for a bank or any company like that!

Nope. As long as we take ONE customer with us, we can expense up to 25,000 grand for the concert for a good box. Of course, the president of our company will be there, but he would be the first one to get the margaritas for us all. He has seen Jimmy over 100 times.

Kind of nice when you can do all this for free, and still sorta be considered "on the clock".

heh, my hubby was in until you said "good golfer." He's more the "good drinker; sometimes good golfer"

The wife and I were talking last night and I am not sure that we are going to use the shuttle from the Holiday Inn. It would s*** to carry all of the tailgate stuff (coolers, etc...) then what do you do with it during the show? No further than it is, I think we may drive.

What do you think Shirley?

I agree DRIVE. Our exact thoughts on how do you haul all the stuff. We like to get there early. If someone just takes in the show the shuttle would work.

Great minds think alike. :D

well, I guess we are now staying at the Holiday Inn, not the HI Express :) I'm so glad my "people" put up with me. I don't know how many would

We are also gonna drive from the hotel to the venue just so we have a place to store stuff. However, it would be rather entertaining to watch all of us try to get ourselves and our gear to and from on a shuttle... ("Sir, your palm tree just poked me in the back." "That wasn't my palm tree"...... [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif] )

I figured since I was already so deep in money-wise, might as well pay the extra $15.00 to not have to be waiting and watching my mailbox. Last year they took quite awhile getting here. It has put a smile on my face for the week that's for sure. :D

Nice, I got my tickets for Raleigh yesterday. They are from Live Nation and are the size of the envelope. I guess so my drunk a$$ can find them prior to the show.

Last year, a group of us all met up at a designated spot on the way to the venue, and drove over together so we could all be parked next to each other-it worked great. And now, since this is our second year at this venue, we have a much better idea how to direct people than we did last year.

Speak for yourself . . . I don't know $hit.

The Parrot Dice Lounge will be there at 9am setting up and making breakfast for the handful of us that will be putting it all together. Since we're in premium parking everyone can find us when they are ready.

do you think the premium parking is worth it? not sure we will be there at 9---we are still trying to figure out how to make sure the pool stays full of water (that, and how to fill in since driving water from Michigan may be a challenge----we have some ideas, but would rather fill it in Chicago. thought about doing a coin car wash but we're afraid that the power would rip the plastic.....we have time. we may need to be really really REALLY creative.)

Anyway, if the premium parking makes things much nicer then we may splurge. We already have "VIP" parking (thanks to hubby's back surgery a while back. Gotta love the blue tag!) so if handicapped parking is near premium then we are golden.

another question and i'm sure will be better answered closer to the concert---what is the cover (0r lack thereof) to the Parrot Dice Lounge? I figure since we probably will be crashing, we may as well be polite crashers :)

Okay, I think my kids need to go to bed--we are up north for the weekend, they are over tired, and fighting more than usual. I don't want to run out of rum, so for the sake of my stash, it's bedtime.

later all, how many days????

This year I'm putting out a tip jar. People were handing my wife money and paying just to do the beer bongs. Whatever you feel the experience is worth is appreciated since we don't promise anything. We are what you make of us . . . I consider it a traveling carnival community myself.

The Premium Parking is what you make of it. They pack you in in the regular lot. For what we personally have and what we do buying more space made good sense. You have room in the reg lot but not much. We were 3-4 cars wide which helped but we were narrow - Our stage covered a large portion behind one car. There were people coming dangerously close to a hot grill all day because we had it out in what some people thought could be used as an aisle . . . not that it wasn't an aisle but I had no where to put a grill.

As for your water dilemma I'm faced with the same dilemma. Check the size of your pool. One thought I have on transporting water is using "NEW" garbage cans. Once they've been emptied of their contents we can begin proper disposal of condoms, beer cans, soiled underwear, and douche bag drunk college kids.

Another thought from an easier to transport perspective - Totes or 5 Gallon Jugs.

I was thinking of using large garbage can liners that we would fill in the pool and then close. That way they would be warm and somewhat secure on the drive out. then we just either open them or cut them open, let them empty into the pool and remove the carcass. Still not convinced that they will withstand the sloshing from MI to Chicago, but worth further consideration. We will do a test run, I'm sure (since DTE is a few days prior---what better place to test???)

I personally loved the year that someone lined a dump truck with plastic (like the stuff you use to make a pond) had it filled, and attached a slide to the roof of the cab. Now that was awesome. Beat the heck outta my little blow up pool in the bed of the truck. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, who do I know that has a dump truck that would let me borrow it............ :)
