You're probably going to want an 11:00pm pick up time. What limo service are you using we need one as well from downtown.Sul wrote:Hope all you experts can help me.....I can never "remember" what time the concerts actually end and due to the economy, we are having to substitute our bus that usually would stay on site for a drop off/pick up limo....so I need to tell the limo driver what time to pick us up at....so what time does the concert usually end?
Thank you!
what specifically do you need to know? lot opens at 9 AM. Last year it was crowded, but well managed---lots of porta johns, etc. We are hoping they will space cars out a little more this year.Boatdrunk.... wrote:Can somebody fill me in on the parking/tailgate situation at Toyota?
Lot is free-included in ticket price. website says they will ask to see tickets. Last year was the first year at this venue, but the lot does fill, and last year there was very little room between rows (though they are reconfiguring it some this year). They definitely allow tailgaiting and did a great job last year of letting that happen, providing tons of garbage cans, and cleaning the, etc. Last year some of the staff came around on golf carts handing out beads, etc--we felt the staff all really wanted to make sure fans had a great time. Last year there were also a couple of concession stands in the lots though I remember hearing that a bag of ice was $10. As for getting out of the lot, it depends on where you are, as it does everywhere--we just hung out in a group until things had cleared out. You also might want to talk with one of us in the lot to make sure that when you get out of the lot, you can get back to the highway ok since last year they directed us in the opposite direction from where I came in. The Wrigley neighborhood will be very crowded after the game--I would try to park west of the ballpark so that you can head west to the Kennedy Expressway to get to 55 South, or I would park east and head back to Lake Shore Drive taking that to 55 South (in other words, don't park east of the park and then try to go west). Once you get out of the immediate neighborhood, it could take anywhere from 30 minute to an hour or so to get to Bridgeview (my best guess).Boatdrunk.... wrote:Is the parking free, or do you have to pay? Does the lot fill up? Can you get in after 3 pm? Is tailgating tolerated? How long does it take to get out of the parking lot after the show? How long does it take to drive from Wrigley?
I live in Skokie too, but stay near the concert for convenience. Last year, I was at the Friday Cubs game, and we got to the Kennedy and went south to 55--for a Friday afternoon, it wasn't too bad. You could also do public transportation if you really wanted to-the Toyota Park website has directions.Boatdrunk.... wrote:Thanks for the info. I went last year to Toyota, but took the train from Skokie, 2 hours to get there and 2 1/2 on the way back. This year, since I live in Chicago now, I am planning on driving.....just don't know how to get there yet!
We're from out of town as well, conicidently on a guys weekend! I'm trying to find out what is going on friday as well, actually we'll be intown from Wednesday to Sunday so I guess we need a few things to do. I do know that Nadirah and the Boat Drunks will be playing at Joe's on Weed St. Friday night at 10pm. Other then that I haven't heard much of anything else going on. Any ideas?fruitck30 wrote:Hi there! Just curious, since I haven't been back to see Jimmy in Chicago since Tinley Park/Tweeter Center days, does anything go on the night before like at the Holiday Inn Express on Cicero Ave in the past? The last time I saw him at Tweeter we stayed there Fri/Sat and it was soo fun, big buffett party the night before! Does anyone know if there is a new place to be? Please fill me in! Girls trip planned for 8/15!

Not in the jets
Mac will usually do a show on the Friday Night before as well. I don't recall having heard anything so that might not be happening this year.fruitck30 wrote:Hi there!
