Well going to Seattle is a lot better than going to Toronto since he wont seem to come back to Vancouver.
We did Portland a few years ago and the post party got shut down and we were confined to the hotel by the police and the hotel bar was closed down as well. If you walk fast back to your hotel it usually is okay !

Kinda depends on what you mean by "cheap" . . Go to Orbitz.com, select Hotels, and Seattle, and the date . . When the selections pop up, click on "Seattle Center" in the select area pull down. The Hampton Inn is pretty close (walking distance to the 'Key) and not real expensive . . . There's a Holiday Inn and a Residence Inn, and a Homewood and . . . Of course, you could spring for the Edgewater Inn and mebbee get the room that The Beatles stayed in and supposedly fished from the window of . . . .

Hee Hee Heeeee...... Sitting on the veranda of the pioneer inn in downtown Lahaina watching the crowd cruise by....drinkin' an ICE cold longboard lager right now.......
