Sweet! That means if we play our cards right, we might be able to earn enough money to see Jimmy again next year, assuming you collect in all possible categories.

no kidding

It's part of the 2010 Buffett Bailout for Parrotheads

What a great thought!!
(Hope us Canucks are eligible for this bailout too---or at least 83% of it!)
I just followed the link to Wikipedia and there is
no 2010 tour on that list
now.

I've given my life for songs that I sing
As a matter of fact, I've given everything
But time has come to not make a sound
Time has come to lay my burden down
Ohhh wo, ohhh wo
It's come from behind,
Now is the time for the last line.
I've managed to keep some friends on my side
And lived through the time of rumors and lies
But now is the time to rest my heart
Let some other innocent fool take my part
Ohh wo, ohh wo
It's come from behind,
Now is the time for the last line.
Going back to when I was turned on to Jimmy back in the '70's...
I really, really love that song

All this talk of when JB's going to retire.

Here's my theory. Buffett is a huge fan of Johnny Carson and alway said he admired him because when he retired, he stayed retired. Carson retired at the age of 66 from the Tonight Show and sailed off into the sunset. JB is 62, so I figure we have 4 more years. So let's not dwell on it. We've got awhile yet.

Glad to see somebody removed that 2010 crap from the wikipedia page.

Was thinking about that, too.

First off, I don't believe the rumors. But honestly, I would not be surprised if he stops touring as we know it in the next couple of years. Ticket prices, our (old fans) lifestyles and the prices of attending have kind of slowly changed things. And there is a point when a performer starts to look (and sound) like he's forcing it. Even if he isn't. And honestly, his commercialization of all things Buffett has turned off alot of old fans. I love the music, like the man, but I haven't attended a concert in 3 years. I'm sure ther are a few others out there with similar changing behaviors for want of a better term.

So how much do I get for having the Landshark logo permenantly etched on my leg?

He's not going anywhere anytime soon. Talk about the perfect summer schedule. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. He takes most of July off. Good times

Very good point.

At the end of the "Hurricane Hannah" GW show last September, Jimmy promised 10 more years....and I've been reminded of that a couple times since by my 9 year old niece, who can't wait to go see him with me "when she's old enough".
She asked when that would be, and my brother said " When one of you grows up"

There is a bunch of trash floating around the internet. As a life long Notre Dame fan and a die hard Cubs fan, I have read alleged news and "rumors" regarding the team, players, and coaches for years. In all that time, not once, did I get a chill when reading it like I got when I read that article about the farewell tour.
Do anyone of you think this MIGHT be true?

at least as true as their planning to melt Touchdown Jesus down for scrap and replace him with Safety Zoroaster, given the relative lack of scoring by UND teams.

I agree, too.........
As much as JB obviously still enjoys performing I think he'll be "out there" in some form (with the CRB or solo) until he can no longer carry a tune.......besides, as he puts it, "What else would I do?"

An absolutely Fantastic song! Keith Sykes is such a great, great writer. I believe when Jimmy Buffett does the very last concert...this should be the final song he does.
