I just want to hear someone say that they'd actually say no.

I'm not a greedy person, at least I don't think, but I know I'm not an idiot.

Not trying to instigate here, just trying to have a little fun in these crazy times. What does Jimmy say? Fear is the absence of laughter (or something like that)? So I guess if we can laugh at times, then we're not ALWAYS freakin' out.

Ya'll have a good evening.
comparing myself to one of the richest entertainers is not even an option.750,000 for a working class person to do their job is not overkill, its a dream come true! but if i was selling myself to people that were doing something that was hurting others than no. and for somebody that has everything and cant find a reason to say no to corporate greed it is overkill. its his opinion but the way i see it, i'd rather add another date to my tour and play to my fans than be associated with corporate executives.theres nothing rock 'n roll about that.

Did anyone actually read the article? This is what it says: Previous trips have included private Jimmy Buffett concerts, horseback riding, wine tasting and gifts laid on pillows, The Associated Press reports.

That's the only time Buffett's name is mentioned, it doesn't say he was supposed to be at this one before it was canceled.

"Before anyone starts (some already have) jumping on Jimmy, saying that he should know better than to play these gigs, think about something. 99% of us would take the $$ from these guys to play for a couple hours if they offered. It's easy to sit back and criticize, but we all know we'd do the same thing if we were in his shoes."

Agreed. Me too. Then I'd go play an Obama rally just for fun.[/quot

we dont have jimmys annual savings account.its blood money. the country is headed towards a depression and jimmy is willing to play for people like that.entertainer or not its wrong. maybe its just me but when we keep hearing only jimmys name being associated with events like this it aggravating. playiing concerts to your fans for money is one thing but when your taking money from the scum of the earth when you already have enough money then you know what to do with is another story. its called overkill"

Well I thought this was all in fun. But it is a bit laughable. When you play for big bucks from supposedly mostly conservative folks and then play an Obama rally for free (at least I saw that in one report) it has to make you laugh. But that's Jimmy's business and it may not set well with me but that's the American way and I'll always be a fan. Of course he gets to laugh all the way to the bank.
