I just got off the phone with Ticketmaster. They told me that LN originally were selling them, but Buffett took them away from LN. So, I guess we're going to try Ticketmaster now on Monday. This is irritating!mood for today wrote:just got this response from livenation

It is irritating not knowing so close to on-sale dates, BUT......madwolf69 wrote:I just got off the phone with Ticketmaster. They told me that LN originally were selling them, but Buffett took them away from LN. So, I guess we're going to try Ticketmaster now on Monday. This is irritating!
If Jimmy really did 'take them away from LN' because of the utter ineptitude of them being able to conduct an online ticket sale (not rocket science in 2009), might that not be a good thing?
I'm not sayin Ticketbasterd has been stellar in the past, but when you are talking about the 'best of the worst'......
Re: Chicago Presale
apparently no presale this year.
ads listed LiveNation and Ticketmaster but said ticket were through ticketmaster or at the Toyota Park box office.

Here here yes - Live Nation last Saturday for the NC shows was horrible (but in all fairness lots of BNers eventually got some really good seats (LARRY!!).looking4OPH wrote:It is irritating not knowing so close to on-sale dates, BUT......madwolf69 wrote:I just got off the phone with Ticketmaster. TicketBasterd is not my friend but I do think they have a better infrastructure than LN for mass sales like this. Jimmy is not a marketing fool....esp. in recession when people are pulling back on this type of spending - he would likely go with the 'best of the worst'.
Interesting how much media all of the 2009 concert tix sales has received - from Phish to Springsteen or was I not paying attention before?
And raccoons brought wine and the mice they brought cheese...

Re: Chicago Presale
I'd agree with that. But in the Springsteen letter to his fans and TM, he stated that ticketing is an agreement between the venue and the ticket companies.magnus & Mr Moon wrote: TicketBasterd is not my friend but I do think they have a better infrastructure than LN for mass sales like this. So I don't know that Jimmy could "take them away" from any company, unless his agreements are different than Bruce's.(Bear in mind that we are not clients of any ticketing company, and that all those arrangements are between venues and ticketing companies.)

Sale or presale, it won't be so irritating to me as long as TM instead of LN is selling on Monday.madwolf69 wrote:I just got off the phone with Ticketmaster. That way, my "closed door meeting" will only last for 10 minutes instead of 2.5 hours!
Hey Snake, we need more wine!
