The Bears won yesterday.... That said Cutler's going to need some protection or he's gonna get killed :(
Maybe they need to revisit their offensive schemes and see if they can work something out (they have 4 weeks before playing Minnesota and Jared Allen has his sights on ending a career :( )

(Note, Jared probably wouldn't do it on purpose but he does hit pretty hard and a man with no protection is going to be an easy target...)

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

HOW DO YOU LIKE HIM NOW, PACKER FANS?
Well, I guess we should have known it was coming once we knew he was going :( :( .

Personally, I think a lot of the Packer faithful would be more OK with this if Favre hadn't been playing "prima donna" and "grand diva" during his on-again, off-again, "I'm going to retire; no, I'm not; yes, I am; no, I'm not" soap opera. Up here in the north country most of us are ordinary working stiffs who still believe that a man is as good as his word, and that a man stands behind his word. Most, if not all of us, would never be able to play out this sort of drama at our jobs, no matter how good we are at them, and there was a natural resentment to that.

Add to that the amount of money he was receiving (and was offered to return), and it's enough to boggle the mind of your run-of-the-mill factory worker. A lot of us remember back when great players like Sayres, Starr, Nitschke, Butkus, and others were making perhaps $50K a season, signed autographs for free, and thought they were on top of the world — mega-million dollar payouts and no-cut, long-term contracts are anathema to us. We still believe in the work ethic of Vince Lombardi, who was of the attitude that "if you want to play for me next year, you better show me something this year".

Lastly, Brett's unwillingness to compete for the starting position when there still was the possibility of his return to Green Bay in the 2008 off-season/pre-season was the final straw that put me off him. If he was as good as he thought he was he should have had no trouble pushing Rodgers back down a level on the depth charts.

Although I will say that Packer management must share some of the blame for this development. Worst case scenario, they should have kept Favre on the roster if for no other reason than to prevent his being used against them.

Finally, what's with the unstrapped helmet? I sure hope that picture was taken during pre-game warmups....

That Bear Offensive Line is just horrible. It is time to sit Orlando Pace done, he is a shell of what he once was. Olin Kruetz is done also.

To begin with, Farve is in a very unique profession. Let's face it, this country is BEYOND obsessed with sports. Many divorces and cases of domestic abuse have came as a result of one of the spouses obsession with baseball, football, hockey, etc.
I like to think I'm good at MY profession (as do you and everyone else here), but let's face it, if I left my job tomorrow, who SERIOUSLY would give a damn? So you're right in that regard, but SOMEBODY in the NFL heirarchy wants Farve to keep playing.
He changed his mind about retiring, SO WHAT.
We all have second thoughts about some decisions we make, and if we change our mind, what's the big deal? How big of a deal would people in the Green Bay area be making if the Packers were 8-0 and blowing away all their opponents? I honestly think they would've forgotten all about Farve if that were the case. I admit I haven't really been following the Packers that closely this year (except when they play the Bears), but it's obvious they need help SOMEWHERE. Is that help needed at QB? You tell me. But, as good as their current QB is, he can't do it alone, so they do need help somewhere. Whether it's all the fault of the signal caller, I have no idea.
I'm sorry, but I have to admire Farve for his heart and determination. Any of us who love our job would have a very hard time walking away from it, and, as the time gets closer, the butterflies in the stomach start to kick harder and harder.
He still thinks he can preform, so why not give him a chance and let him prove himself. If he does well, great. If not, shake hands and say thank you for the memories.
Life is too short to be as overly obsessed by the preformance of certain athletes or sports teams. YES, I love it when my teams win, but I don't go jumping off of ledges when they don't. (Sorry gang-I'm not about to end it all just to make a certain few happy).
The same goes for a particular athlete.
And I've always HATED the Vikings, but I find myself cheering for them this year.

And WHAT THE HELL is this talk about Farve being OLD?
Heck, I have UNDERWEAR that's older than he is.

Phone Transcript from a Green Bay, Wisconsin office:

*Ring Ring*
Secretary: Hello? Yes, just a moment.
Secretary (presses intercom button): Mr. Thompson? There is a call for you on line 1 from a Mr. "Offensive Line"
Mr. Thompson: Never heard of him. Get rid of him, I'm sure he's selling something we don't need.

I saw a couple of good signs from the Redskins game. One read, "The Redskins needs a stimulus plan." and "Hey Snyder! Confiscate this! Fire Vinny!"

Based by the odds in the pool I was in, the underdogs went 6-1 vs. the spread in the early games... That means Vegas made an even bigger profit today...

When your team's punter has more rushing touchdowns than any of your team's backs and receivers, you know you are having a bad year.... and he has 2.

Underdogs 9-2 vs. the spread toady ... wow! And should have been 10-1 if Seattle didn't get those late meaningless points.
