Numbers keep climbing ... some towns have not yet been accessed to account for loss of life or loss of homes ... the loss of homes - replaceable ..... life ... not.

Face to the loss of life now .... with a major tv identity missing ... his wife's body has been found....

Oh Jenny..my heart is just breaking...whole towns burned out and the loss of life is just devastating... and also the people who are in the flooded areas of your country..... I know you aren't in any danger...but Jenny take care of yourself!!

Thanks - just wish some of that rain would head down south ...

My brother and his family live up where the floods are. Their home is not flooded - but they are not able to get food supplies in ..... guess that is a minor issue with what else is going on in the country ....

The good news is that the heat wave is over .. so the conditions are much better for the fire fighters to get things under control .......

This is now officially the worst fire in the world in 150 years in regards to loss of human life ... expected to reach 300

What is amazing is the amount of support being given by my countrymen and women ...... donations out of this world .....

Jenny...it wasn't as much as I wish I could have donated, but I made a donation for the bushfire victims. I hope your fellow Aussies know how much we here in the USA care and how devastated we are by this horrific event.

Thanks BEG .... The fact that some of these were deliberately lit has created a huge amount of anger. They have a suspect ... when he is caught ... goodness knows what will transpire.

Some of the stories are just so sad. The sad part is - that it travelled in a completely different direction when hit by winds - unexpectadly and went 20 kilometers in a matter of minutes - they didnt stand a chance.

In one town of 500 people .... they are expecting that one fifth of the population has died

When you consider prev disasters - here and in the USA - many more with more loss of property .... but 700 houses gone and expected to be 300 dead ....... just awful.
