Government action is what created the climate and circumstance for the NEW JOB that I'm starting tomorrow. 8) :D

The financial bailout/stimulus backed Chase Bank's buyout of the failing Washington Mutual.
The resulting changeover has created the Project Manager position I just was hired for last week.
I am now part of a small team to be overseeing the changing identity of over 150 branches in SoCal.
It is a job that would not exist if the WaMu bank failure would have been allowed to occur in a "free market" spirit.
This is a situation where jobs have been created, rather than simply erased, by the government's action.

I know a lot of you here bellyache about what you perceive to be some sort of economic injustice in all of this,
that financial hardship and unemployment is mainly a result of those person's stupidity and laziness...

but take it from this BN'er who lost a good job last year due to economic conditions, and is now going back to solid work,
it is heartening to see economic results already arising from recent government action.

Believe me...You don't want to have to walk in those shoes

..I'll check in again later. I'm gonna be pretty damn busy for the foreseeable future 8)

Congrats on the job LB, happy for you. I've been in the outofajob shoes also. I certainly don't believe being out of work is due to laziness and stupidity, for most.

But I will continue to bellyache about the wasteful spending coming out of DC. Not everyone will benefit like you did, too much crap in the stickittous bill.

Yeah I know it's not a liberal publication but the message is still the same.

Elrod wrote:Colorado expects to receive $1.97 Billion of the $797 Billion in the package. (1/4 of one percent.)

Democrats - including the representative from our district - claim that this will create 60,000 new jobs in Colorado. ($1,970,000,000 / 60,000 = $32,833.33) The per capita income in Colorado is about $40,000.

The new jobs will pay below average. "How much below?" depends on how much of that $1.97 billion is spent on materials for the projects. Every dollar that is spent on materials is a dollar less for labor. Most of these projects are built from concrete and steel, expensive materials.

People see a promise of $1.97 billion in new spending and start grinning from ear-to-ear. If they are smart enough to do the math, they will see that it is not all that it is cracked up to be.

Whether I support it or not, this ill-conceived plan has become the law of the land and I will be paying for it for the rest of my life.
EVEN WORSE!!!

PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE FACTS RUIN A GREAT OPINION

Obama claimed that the trillion dollar deficit Bush had built up over 8 years was excessive. Then he tripled it in the first 30 days. Hmmmmm...

That's, "Change we can believe in....."

BTW, how come little O never mentions the association between the deficit and the war in Iraq? He's smarter than that, right?

When I was in law school the paper I wrote to satisfy the writing requirement for graduation was on term limits, I'm in favor of them. I never thought I was a very good writer and while I was writing that paper I kept thinking "could I be putting any more $h!t on paper without sitting on the can?" The class I wrote it for was one of only 3 A's I got in my 3 years of law school.

Thanks for the help - and people wonder why we're in the spot we're in. A good first step would be to not re-elect this Senator (I'll refrain from name calling).

Charles Schumer is nothing but a publicity hound. Stick a microphone or a camera in front of him and you'll see where Andy Samberg and his buddies got the idea for that song "Jizz In My Pants."

Actually naming names is not the same thing as name calling.

Voting Chuck Schumer out of office is a good step, but I can't vote in the senate election because I don't live in New York.

So I'll just have to trust the people of New York to do the right thing.
