Hello everyone. I've been to a number of Buffett concerts at the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Pittsburgh but each time I've had lawn seats. This year I got pavilion seats (Section 1 right up front! WAHOO!!) and wanted to ask what about what I can expect with these seats. I did see a 3D view of my seat location at the LiveNation website and it's close. NICE! But with that seat, do they require that you don't move from that seat or once the concert starts does everyone in the pavilion section "rush" the stage? The concert starts at 8pm...what time should I get to my seat? Should I get there extra early? We love the parking lot party and usually get in the arena right at 8pm when the concert starts. I'm just wondering if this is going to be a little different with the pavilion seats this year. What about taking a disposable camera for pictures? I know you're not supposed to take cameras in there but from my lawn seats in the past, I've seen a TON of camera flashes once the concert starts.
Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated! Also, if anyone has any other comments, suggestions, tips, etc., please send them along! Thanks!
Joe

You stay in your seat. You are still behind the PIT, which is really just another section of seats. There is no "rushing the stage".
Cameras are fine.
Get to your seats at 8PM. Nothing is different between the pavilion and the lawn seats.

Congrats on you seats!
We have pavilion a few years ago. They security is pretty strict on keeping people in their seats so once you are in you pretty much can't get up and move around.
I would say head in a little early so you aren't scuffling between people already sitting. Only 15 to 20 mins early would be fine.
We didn't have a problem with cameras.
have fun

Hi,
We've had pavilion seats at PG for the past 3 years. We've never had a problem standing or entering and exiting, other than having to show our tickets to re-enter the pavilion.

Although I had no problems with my camera there, I believe most venues have a default rule prohibiting them for all shows unless stated by the artist otherwise, even if they don't always enforce it. So, always be prepared to get turned away at the gate if they pat you down and unless everyone around you is taking photos, don't flaunt that you're doing it. I've had friends thrown out of concerts for having cameras that they got past security. The advantage to a disposable camera is that you can possibly just turn it over and keep enjoying the concert if it becomes a problem.
I tend to assume that if they didn't pat me down and stop me when I came in and if the ticket doesn't say "no cameras", then I'm free to take photos until told otherwise.

We sat in the Pit, 3rd row, a couple of years ago, and actually had the security guy (kid, really) take pictures of us and of JB for us. But I agree...you never know if the guys patting you down when you go in will be cool or jerks.

Thank you all for the great replies! It looks like it will be business as usual for the most part. I will bring a disposable camera (or two) with me for pictures and if it gets confiscated, well, that would s***. But at least they wouldn't be taking my digital camera!

Way to go on the nice seats....Ive been to many concerts there and I caution you on the camera...you can get in in and take pics but be aware that they are not allowed,so you may wanna opt for a small, less pricey Cam,but as I said Ive taken them in every year just have to get by security good luck have phun!!!
