Re: Who's Going to Maui?....to be more Pacific
Hope there's some of that beer left come Tuesday. Just checked a map and I'm a few blocks up from the Pioneer at the Aina Nula resort. Probably a five minute walk if you're a gecko. Do gecko's walk?
What time is the show? I'm assuming we have about an hour in a cab to get to the venue. Met a surf instructor today based out of Lahaina and he really has me thinking I need to surf a little in the afternoon if I can find the time.

Re: Who's Going to Maui?....to be more Pacific
Heidi and I were in Lahaina last night. We stopped by the Pioneer Inn to say hello to Marc, who was nice enough to invite us up. Sitting there on the balcony overlooking the Front St. scene with Steve, Marc and his lovely wife Deb, I was reminded why we all love what Jimmy's selling. The escape, the mood, the happiness that we all share as his phans, is magnifyed tenfold when we come together. Marc & Deb were such wonderful hosts, even though we had never met before. By the way, Marc makes a killer Margarita! What a perfect example of how Aloha & Barometer Soup can be one in the same.

Re: Who's Going to Maui?....to be more Pacific
Thanks to Dutch Harbor, BuPHalo Jim and their much better halfs Debbie and Heidi for the aloha spirit. Although the gecko was missing, and I suspect foul play, Great drinks on Marks, veranda aka known as the office. The concert was great and what a venue! Dutch Harbor is right, a lot of folks wanted to sit the entire show. I was center right row M with a lot of the Maui Cultural Foundation folks. When the opening dancers opened with traditional dance, some folks stood up in front of me. My two seat neighbors had to be 75 years old. As a veteran on many shows, no worries to me about folks standing but the young woman of my neighbors voiced her displeasure and I thought it would be a long night... Both of them melted about 3 songs into the set and not only began standing with the rest of the crowd, were seen spiking beach balls with the best of them and eventually gave some of the best Phin Moves during Fins. It was classic! Great show, great Maui spirit and venue. Cowboy JUnkie where are you? Am going surfing again today. See some of you in Waikiki.

Never made it on the ocean. I found myself drinking on the veranda of the Pioneer (I mean, Dutch Harbor) Inn.skrull wrote:Cowboy JUnkie where are you? Am going surfing again today. See some of you in Waikiki.
