The island driving is such a blast, if you know the rules...and no pilot to get you there...

Village St Jean is the first place I stayed on St Barth...fond memories. I have met people that have stayed there every year forever, as the owner has been loyal to her guests and is a great islander who will take care of you...Catherine Charneau. Well, you could walk there from the airport, but if you are toting luggage, someone is going to offer you a lift so you do not have to arrive at the hotel fatigued and weathered by the FWI tropical sun.

Well, so far I'm only out about $150 if I cancel. Crap. I wish I knew why he has to be so mysterious about this stuff.

I'll start the rumor. Jimmy changed his mind about playing at Le Select, he's going to show up at MOTM instead and try to do more shows in 5 days than Jim Morris.

Perhaps they are trying to attract less people and not have such a "feeding frenzy" ?
St. Bart's is nothing like Anguilla. Anguilla needed to attract tourists to increase tourism dollars. The concert there raised a lot of awareness for the island and a lot of money for the charity. The DVD probably did the same thing. The islanders there were very grateful for the entire experience and publicity. Most of them had never heard of Jimmy Buffett.
St. Bart's is a different story. It is a much more exclusive island...more expensive and more difficult to get there. Maybe the locals don't want to be bombarded with Parrotheads. It is an island Jimmy frequents and goes to for privacy. This could change that for him. I think it would be much different than 10 years earlier when the internet wasn't a place where EVERYONE went for information.
It is getting harder and harder for Jimmy to do small controlled shows. The Paris show in 2007 was absolutely great. The shows in 2008 were much busier.
Everyone (not just regulars) logs onto BN for information and it seems like the information is posted way earlier than it used to be...
Just a thought.
Maybe they will wait a few months and re-announce it when it gets closer. Perhaps we should change the name of our thread in the meantime!

I'm trying to maintain a sense of humor about it all, but I've spent MANY hours working on this over the last few days. And there are flights from St Maarten to St Barths that are already completely booked on those days!
Not that they care but I just went to the Wimco website and they have a "Send us feedback" spot so I just did and told them they have a lot of nerve using Jimmy's name to drum up business. I'm glad the villa we are renting (so far) ISN"T being rented from them!

Good idea then "everyone" can't find it!

Hell, I'm going anyway, 90% of my reservations are already made, the only thing missing is airline and I'm just waiting for Jet Blue to start booking for Nov.

I would not wait too long to book flights between St Martin and St Barts. Received over 20 emails today saying that all flights are booked...not sure which dates, but dates surrounding November 6-8.
