I kind of figured that's where the beach chair rental question came from.

one piece of info that i just got from Kathy at St. Bath Properties is that her Captiol One credit card doesn't charge her exhange fees. I'll have to call and find out about our account.
I'm not placing Casurina. Are you sure of the name?

CapOne is known for not charging the typical 2% bank surcharge for foreign charges, and also eats the 1% Visa/MC surcharge. They're also known for being difficult to get hold of customer-service-wise. Good luck, and I hope that you get a favorable answer. With a CapOne card you should be doing better than I do at the ATM, where I pay a 1% Visa surcharge. One of these days I'll get around to changing a card to CapOne.

Ok I am a little confused here. The wonderful map (geed) is it Ron or Don? I am so sorry if I got your name wrong. And do we have a Ron here and thats what has me messed up? Yikes sorry about that.

We have a Capital One card and I just called and verified no exchange fee. I had no trouble calling. I also informed them of our travel and they also offered up the international number if we have to get hold of them while outside the US. Good idea, hadn't thought of that. Of course I'm not sure I will have a phone so.............

I thought that is what Kathy from St. Barth Properties said. It's a place in St. Jean.

Summerlover,

Geed is Ron.

With all of the phone questions here, someone must be planning to have one that you can borrow. Worst case, buy a phone card in the smallest denomination that you can find - €5 or €10/$7.50 or $15 - and call from your villa or hotel. The price of the phone card will be worth it if you can't use your credit card.

Hmm. Could be the place across the street from Nikki Beach. I've never been in there.

Actually, we bookrd with Gayle back in early Feb. I can't remember when exactly but one day I called her and we spoke. I called a few days later and she wasn't there any longer. Not sure what happened at SBP. When I called a number of times between then and now I ended up speaking with Anne who was "just ok" in my book. It seemed like everyone in the office was off for the summer. I called today because I kept waiting for the balance on my second weeks villa to show up on my credit card so I could pay it off right away. I guess someone dropped the ball over there. She called to let me know they did it this a.m and answer some questions. I have to tell you I have been more impressed with the service I have gotten with Wimco. However, I'm willing to see if they can redeem themselves before I write them off.

that is a great deal. we'll definitely try it. however, i'm spoiled and love to be on the beach with LOTS of space between me and the next group. I hate hearing some elses conversation. we usually go to Saline, Gouverneur or Columbier. i guess i've spent too much time on the outer beaches of the cape, cayo costa and north captiva. [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

as far as casarina goes, st.barth properties lists it in their guide. i think it may be just on the end section of st.jean ( away from the airport), where the road bends to the left and then there is a road that branches off that goes straight.

...The blonde part I will surely notice !!!!!! Glad you got the map, hope it helps, and don't worry about finding your way around....all you need to know is the few main roads and if you get lost you will eventually end up back where you started. I figured out that if you study the shape of the different bays, coves and beaches, just about at every turn you have a water view and it is easy to get your bearings rather quickly....

Ron, your map has really helped us get the lay of the land. We won't be heading to Le Pit till evening. It will be dark but I feel confident that we will find our way and won't be driving around still at sunrise. Thanks again!!
