As soon as you see the pilot, ask him for the co-pilot seat!! They usually let someone sit up front, and it is definitely worth the experience.
Thanks for the tip. We fly out of Grand Case so we have to taxi. Hopefully everything will go as planned. Crossing fingers!!

Like Jimmy says, "Trying to reason with the hurricane season, I'm just glad this one is [almost] over" :P
As I get this close to a trip (8 days) an important part of my morning is my daily e-mail from the NHC. I only want it to say one thing:

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

From your mouth to God's ear!!! :D

As for the Winair video, you'd think someone who's sig other for 11 years was a pilot I'd be more blase - NOT. :o :o :o As many times as i've watched that landing it always gives me a YIKES.
But, it IS part of the total experience isn't it??? :D I admit I'll feel cheated if for some reason we have to come in over the water!

Guess you'll just have to plan another vacation to SB. I have already been thinking about it and we haven't even been there yet.

It's free but the most expensive "free" concert I've ever been to!! :D
RickyB here has an extra room, but otherwise it may be hard to find flights, ferries and a place to stay. Most people have had their reservations for months.

And yes Shirley, it came on Friday, can't WAIT to wear it in the front row!

Hey zippy, just look into getting there. I got the room and the car. To wet your appetite, google villa AMS in Camaruche, St. Barts. Nov. 5th thru the 9th. Only $200.00 per night. Hey everyone else, wheres the meeting place on Friday? It's all getting so confusing for me. Obviously, i get confused easily. Just like with the rest of my life, just tell me where to be and when to be there and I'm there. Summerlover, no shirt yet. If I don,t get it tomorrow, I'll let you know. It seems like most everyone else got theirs.

La Route des la Boucaniers (my spelling is probably terrible) in Gustavia around 4ish on Friday Ricky!

Someone we know just returned from St. Barths, they said the Voyager ferry left them "High and Dry". The SBHonline site has some talk that they lost their license. The new ferry may or may not be online (yet). I will try and sort out the details on the Voyager tomorrow. This could get interesting (or expensive if we have to charter a flight)!

Uggghh

Does the new Great Bay ferry work with your schedule?

I remember reading that all those "day tripper" ferries needed some sort of license they don't have to bring paying passengers. If you get stuck, get in touch with Terrance, he seems like a good guy, he offered to try to get me to SBH the same day I come in but it was already too late to cancel my room on St Martin.

I guess someone on the pier offered to take them over to Gustavia for short money, but the ferry operator called and reported the boat. Customs detained them and the boat for a few hours but then let them on their way. I have 12 days to sort it out, otherwise it will be a LONG swim!

It should, we get into St. Maarten at 1500. Shorter ferry trip as well. Maybe it will work out better! Thanks!

As long as we are on the Quay for Saturday night - it's all good. If we can get the early ferry we might even make Marius' speech, or maybe even have a cocktail at La Route des Boucaniers with the BN crowd on Friday!
