That's a great idea C-Dawg. Duckett may be exposed to a little big of alcohol indulgence during his trip, and I'd hate for him to lose an essential.C-Dawg wrote:Sounds great........go for it SP. I'll PM you with my address.surfpirate wrote:A passport would be great, but what may be better would be a decent hard cover travel journal that would withstand the many miles of travel and handling .... and also lots of blank pages for signatures, stories and hellos. I'll spring for the cost if you want to pick up a nice travel log/journal from a bookstore.C-Dawg wrote:Yes, I'm expecting the T-shirt and Duckett to arrive any day now, and plan on working on the passport this weekend. Al has agreed to make him a BN tag, and I have the extra lanyard.surfpirate wrote:Hey! I really like the idea of a passport/journal/guestbook that would travel with Duckett (and apparently his chaperone Anonymouse too). Room for lots of signatures and stories that could be added as he makes his way across the country this summer. A very cool idea. Will he have one in time for his trip to New England? If not, I'll definitely make sure we have something when he makes his way with me to Frisco.
He should be "stylin" when he heads for Maine.![]()
Assuming it finds it way back to me at the end of the concert season, I'll scan the pages and make them available for reading in a special travel section over at http://www.bncritters.com, complete with photos taken along the way, including posts and pictures that find their way into this thread throughout the season.
As for the bag, I may have something at the house. Let me check before you go spending any money.
I'll let you know TTG. As for the list of his stuff....good idea, but can't we just put that on the first page of the "passport"?

Check out the "Who's Going to GW 6/27" thread, and find out when and where we're meeting in the morning. Then follow us into the Lot and join the party. Duckett will be with me to start the day, as I'll have him Thursday.TullyMars35 wrote:I'm new to BN and the discussion board but I think its awesome what you guys are doing sending him around. If that doesn't work for ya, PM me and I'll give you my cellphone number. You can call me and find the BN crew when you get there.

I'd love to help out with the Atlanta show but I couldn't get him to Dallas by the 18th.

I got my tickets to Alpine Valley........who's going to have Duckett there, and where/how do I find you? Or will more details be forthcoming as we get closer to the show?

FedEX Overnight with a Saturday morning delivery to a Dallas hotel. Maybe some of your fellow BNers at the Atlanta tailgate could pitch in to help cover the shipping?spucketts wrote:I'd love to help out with the Atlanta show but I couldn't get him to Dallas by the 18th.

That's a good idea to get donations. I did check with Fedex and it would run about $100 for 9:30 delivery of a 2 pound package. Of course it depends on if I'm alive on Friday morning or not! Hey Surfpirate, where will you be at 9:30 Saturday morning?

Hey Surfpirate, where will you be at 9:30 Saturday morning?
But seriously, $100 is a lot of money for something as frivolous as this isn't it? Perhaps Duckett's travel agenda should be re-evaluated. I'll leave the details to you guys however.

Great pic!!! And judging from your eyes in that picture, Seadog must be the beer to have when you're having more than one.......C-Dawg wrote:Duckett, Anonymouse and I got into the beer tonight. They shared Corona while I of course had SEADOG.

By the way, could someone please maybe create a glossary or an on-line translator for all the acronyms and abbreviations around here? So far today I've seen "MOTM" (in the BNr of the Week thread) and "PWI" (here), and have no clue as to what they mean. I know some are probably standard text message jargon but I don't text. Others appear to be created specifically for this board — like SOASOAS for "Son of a Son of a Sailor", for example (see, I've learned something to try to fit in!).

Good Idea on the glossary thing.
