Margaritaville retirement community? I could retire their quite happily. It would have to be located somewhere warm with lots of beaches. We could all live in tiki huts. We need to have a huge parking lot where the tailgate party would be going on 24/7 complete with tiki bars and all of the games fit for tailgating. RadioMargaritaville and all kinds of tropical music would be playing nonstopped 24/7.

For those who might need a break from the parking lot atmosphere for a minute instead of having knitting classes, exercise classes, card games, or BINGO we could have classes where we would take our frozen concoction makers, and we could make all kinds of frozen concoctions that would help us hang on.

Well, on a little more serious note, after admitting my mom from her nursing home to the hospital for the second time in four weeks, I'M SO READY FOR MARGARITAVILLE RETIREMENT VILLAGE. Just hook up my IV to a frozen concoction maker and keep the rum flowing. Sorry, guys, a little exhausted.

So sorry about your mom.......both she and you are in our prayers, OK?

But I do like the IV/frozen concoction maker hookup!!!!! It may not help, but it couldn't hurt either........

Look no further than The Villages at Lady lake Florida We spend a lot of time here, I even joined the Parrothead club here
My sons thought it would be full of old wrinklies, far from it, all too busy having fun. So many bars and reataurants, we are working our way through them, slowley but surely Even our boys, who are 31 and 32 like to visit for a week or 2 now and again! Roll on retirement............

When I first read this thread The Villages popped into my mind immediately!!! I live in central Florida and knew they had their own club. Also, whenever the weather is on they are included..as in..."freezing temperatures in Ocala and The Villages". I've heard a lot about it but never been there...maybe we could take it over!!! 13 years and 8 months till retirement for me...let's see..that would be about April 4, 2022 (assuming social security is still around and I haven't lost all my money that's in my retirement account)! They had a clip on the news the other night about a guy who is 90 years old...working back at a supermarket for $10 an hour...after losing all his $$ in that Madoff mess...
Anyway...I wanna room too!!

I'll hopefully be retiring in 2031 providing I'll have Social Security. When it comes time to retire My 7th or 8th guide dog and I will happily move to Margaritaville.

By consensus, the model community concept is coming into view:
> All residents must pass a BN-inspired Buffett/Parrothead trivia test as part of the application process (any ideas?)
> Warm climate, ideally with private beach accessibility (but of course!)
> Tropical, pastel colors throughout the property
> Tiki bars, rum tastings, and BBQ picnics
> Residents and staff in appropriate tropical attire
> Weekly "parking lot tailgate" mixers
> Island-inspired menus in the dining halls
> Annual pilgrimage to Key West during MOTM
> What else??????
