...but should.

We did it with Waylon, we can do it with JD. Ya gotta believe!!

Here goes (and the songs are numbered not because I'm listing them in any particular order, but so I can keep track of how many I have listed).

1 - "Whispering Jesse" (live version, from "The Harbor Lights Concert", 1995);

2 - "Eagles and Horses" (from "The Flower that Shattered the Stone", 1990);

3 - "Potter's Wheel" (from "Different Directions", 1991);

4 - "Eclipse" (from "Back Home Again", 1974);

5 - "Farewell Andromeda" (live version from "An Evening with John Denver", 1974);

6 - "Nothing But a Breeze" (from "Seasons of the Heart", 1982);

7 - "Kissing You Goodbye" (live version, from "The Harbor Lights Concert", 1995);

8 - "How Mountain Girls can Love" (from "Autograph", 1980);

9 - "Come and Let Me Look in Your Eyes" (from "Spirit", 1976);

10 - "This Old Guitar" (from "Back Home Again", 1974);

11 - "A Little Further North" (from "The Flower that Shattered the Stone", 1990);

12 - "Opposite Tables" (from "Seasons of the Heart", 1982);

13 - "The Eagle and the Hawk" (live version, from "Live at the Sydney Opera House", 1977);

14 - "Song of Wyoming" (from "Windsong", 1975);

15 - "Bigger They Are, Harder They Fall" (from "The Wildlife Concert", 1995);

16 - "Late Nite Radio" (from "Windsong", 1975);

17 - "Higher Ground" (from "Higher Ground", 1988);

18 - "Angels from Montgomery" (from "Farewell Andromeda", 1973);

19 - "Me and My Uncle" (live version, from "The Harbor Lights Concert", 1995);

20. "Falling Out of Love" (from "It's About Time", 1982).

I listened to Windsong repeatedly when I first bought it.
I still get Late Night Radio stuck in my head from time to time.

Good stuff there...

Rest easy, John

Well, whaddya know! I *knew* "Nothing But A Breeze" sounded familiar! I totally forgot that John Denver recorded it years ago! (And JD's version is similar to JB's, too.) :D

The first live concert I ever saw was John Denver... '77... I think.

Been a fan of his music for a very long time and I know most of
those songs.

Thanks for reminding me and us of another great poet/song writer.

One of my greatest regrets is that although I was (and am) a huge fan of JD's music, I never got to see him live in concert. :cry:

I was 17 or 18 and my girlfriend and I saw him in the Lake Charles (LA) Civic Center.

I stood in my chair the whole time and sang every note.

Now that I think back....

kinda reminds me of a few other concerts I've been to.
:) :) :)

Same here.

Love the song about Darcy Farrow and now I spend most of my free time in the summer, "Where the Walker runs down to the Carson Valley Plain." Good trout fishin there :D

They sing of Darcy Farrow where the Truckee runs through
They sing of her beauty in Virginia City too

Favorite JD album- Farewll Andromeda

+1

"The Harbor Lights Concert" CD is the next best thing, though.

As an aside, another sad irony is that, when JD was killed, he had a brand new album of songs written and ready to record (and, IMO, John's voice and songwriting in the 1990s were at least as good and maybe better than ever, even though he didn't get played on the radio then). Sadly, we'll never hear those songs now.

I think "On the Road" is my favorite JD song.

I saw the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band back in '92 or '93 and he came out to sing "Ripplin' Waters" with them.
