Tonight, the Prince of Peace IRISH, battle for the opportunity to go to the Iowa Class A state championship in Des Moines. On Thursday we crushed the hated Preston Trojans for the District Championship. Tonight we play #2 ranked Iowa Menonite for the trip to the finals

I can't find a pic, but he looked kind of like a Revolutionary War Minuteman. Both of my girls went there and I noticed that somewhere in the intervening years he appears to have lost his muzzle-looader rifle. *sigh*

I always thought our mascot was very generic but no one has listed it:
Sheridan High Generals
Colors were Red and Grey
We were named for our hometown hero during the Civil War General Phillip Sheridan and have a statue of him in our town square

Are you in Wyoming? My husband's last name is Sheridan. When his folks traveled thru Sheridan Wyoming, they brought back Monopoly games for everyone called "Sheridanopoly". The street names and places on the game are all from that town.

Nope I'm in Ohio!
The town name is actually Somerset OH. Sheridan was just from here. Your husband may be a long distance relative of his though, after the Civil War he was sent out to Wyoming to fight the Native Americans.

Actually, my husbands clan came from Oklahoma....go figure....but General Sheridan may have spread his seed all over that area....
