Pilot Point Bearcats. Not sure what a bearcat is but it sounds mean. Colors orange and black.
North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas) Eagles, became known as the Mean Green in the 70s (in honor of alumnus Mean Joe Greene). Colors green and white, switched from dark green to lime green (hey, it was the 70s) after the Mean Green name took off. Now a more medium green.

Grade school, I was an Indian... they have since changed to Wildcats though - not sure when.
HS, I was a Blue Devil.
And college, I was a Lancer. At some point, someone asked "what's a Lancer?" And I replied "a dude, on a horse, with a stick!" So that became an oft repeated phrase for the duration.

(my oft-repeated phrase in college was "where's my drink?"

High School: Seaford Vikings
College: Hofstra Flying Dutchmen...now the Hofstra Pride. You do not want to insult the Dutchmen who cannot fly. It makes them insecure and they experience feelings of general malaise.
