Rex Stout's "Nero Wolfe".

Post by bestseller92 »

Anyone else here a fan of Stout's "Nero Wolfe" novels?
I think Wolfe is rivaled only by Conan Doyle's Holmes as the greatest fictional detective of all time. They're superbly written and have a lot of humor in them, too. Archie and Wolfe together are a gas, to use an anachronistic term.

I actually started reading Wolfe in the early 90s on the radio recommendation of none other than Rush Limbaugh, who's a big fan.

The early 2000s A&E series based on the novels, starring Timothy Hutton and Maury Chalkin (sic?) was very well done, IMO.

Any other Stout/Wolfe fans here?

Yes, i've been a Nero Wolf fan for many years....I think i've read them all at least a couple of times.

For me, Rex Stout is right up there with John D. Mc Donald and Travis McGee as the very best!!
