This is why prescription drugs are the 4th leading cause of death in America. I personally don't believe in them. I take various vitamins and supplements. Vitamins don't kill you. Prescription drugs do though. Always try to do natural before toxic drugs, your body wasn't designed to handle them, that's why they have so many side effects. I know from experience. Like an idiot, I took Lipitor, it messed up my heart! Palpitations, and all kinds of weird crap. That's when I looked into natural remedies and learned how cholesterol doesn't cause any kind of disease. I started taking supplements and haven't had any more problems since, my blood work is fantastic, and all due to vitamins, minerals and various supplements.

different things work for different people, I suppose. And people have varying comfort levels with different approaches. That's what make the human race so danged interesting! [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

I take it, and have absolutely no problems with it.

You cannot say all drugs kill... I had hip surgery 3 years ago and need to have another one. But I had an infection that settled in the cysts that I had removed. If it was not the pic-line with the daily self medicating I would have been really sick.

No the infection was not from surgery, I had it before I walked in the door and the Infectious Specialist that was tops in the city and has NO idea what it was, how I got it - other than it could have been dorment (sp) in my body for years and attached to the cysts when they developed...

Oh lets not forget the medicine I needed to just to have the surgery.

It is the addictive personalities that have to watch the meds....

On one last note, I do not take much meds, unless I have pain...

I need to clarify myself. I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my opinion. Not all drugs kill, I never said they all kill. Some people can take prescription drugs and never have a problem and sometimes they are necessary, but as far as high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes and other ailments, most of the time, they are nutritional deficiences. I urge everyone to please read "Dead Doctors Don't Lie" by Dr. Joel Wallach. It will open your eyes to the drug companies and how they work with doctors to get their profits really high. I can only say what has worked for me and that has been the natural approach. It worked so good for me, I went an got a Fitness and Nutrition degree. I'm an nutritional consultant now and loving it.

some supplements can and are deadly. they have killed people, some of them young, healthy bodies advised to take supplements by personal trainers that didn't have a medical degree.

I'm just sayin'

Antidepressants can be life-savers! They - and other prescription and non-prescription medications - have powerful effects on your body, which can be good or bad. It's important to be mindful of what you're putting into your body, but don't be afraid - just be informed!

Good for you, Funk, for asking your questions here.

I echo what others have already said: talk to your doctor about your side effects, and consider trying a different type of SSRI if the first one didn't work for you because everyone responds differently to the different types. I've tried just about all of them at one time or another over the last 12 years. For me, there have been few side effects and some benefits, so I'm still taking antidepressants and am thankful for what they've done for me.

The brain zaps are the weirdest thing, aren't they?!? I had them a lot when I was detoxing from Effexor + Buspar. They're not painful, just weird. It's almost like being dizzy or motion-sick, but not really. And for me, it was worst when I turned my head suddenly. They gradually went away, but it was awfully distracting for several days.

Good luck!

Tina

I am all about natural...just all naturals do not work for everyone....and being all natural is just that ALL natural...from what you eat/drink, how you eat and drink, cleaning, wear, digest, daily chores/activities and even things you do at work...oh the list can go on!

DAVE - just keep plugging along, look into what I PM'd you about...could be that simple. Good luck! (laughing because I am sure all will think - who is Dave?)
