Maybe I should have saved that "extra" cat for you...ejr wrote:Now if we could solve my problem--the experts have been convinced that the animal in my wall, scratching during the day, and chewing the cable line, is a squirrel. On Friday, someone from my village's Animal Control Department came over and she, like me, believes it is a mouse. We are still somewhat baffled as to how it gets in, and how to get rid of it.
Meanwhile, I have placed an old, portable tv on the back of my sofa, pointed it at the spot in the wall where I first here the noise, and blast it at top volume during the day. Two days and the cable line has not been chewed, but I don't know if it is because of the noise, the weather, the mouse has gone away, or died, or none of the above.
Some day I will look back at this and laugh, but I am concerned it will chew an electrical wire and/or die within my wall.
Very tired of this animal!!!
when we had a mouse in the wall I threatened it with a shotgun blast. I was seriously ready to blow a hole in my wall. The mouse must have known what I was talking about because after about the 3rd time of me yelling at it "I'll get a shotgun and blast your a$$" I never heard the sound again.ejr wrote:cat or snake won't help as there is no evidence that the mouse has been in the house, only in the wall, and I have only heard it on one wall, during daylight hours.

You could thread the snake down into the wall... but then you'd need the mongoose.ejr wrote:cat or snake won't help as there is no evidence that the mouse has been in the house, only in the wall, and I have only heard it on one wall, during daylight hours.
One of the teachers at school suggested that it wasn't a mouse, but a moose. I imagine the imprint of a moose antler coming through the wood paneling of my family room.Desdamona wrote:You could thread the snake down into the wall... but then you'd need the mongoose.ejr wrote:cat or snake won't help as there is no evidence that the mouse has been in the house, only in the wall, and I have only heard it on one wall, during daylight hours.![]()
Yep, but when this starts getting to me, I can laugh at the thought of an antler coming through the wood panelingSnowparrot wrote:Your walls would have to be awfully thick to get a moose stuck in there--don't worry about the antlers!
Good luck with the critter!
