Those wacky Phish Phans.........

Post by pair8head »

HAMPTON, Va. – Some Phish fans are leaving Hampton a little lighter than when they arrived for the band's weekend reunion.

Police said Monday they confiscated about $1.2 million in illegal drugs and more than $68,000 in cash from concertgoers. Authorities also arrested 194 Phish fans during the three-night celebration of the band's return to the stage after a nearly five-year absence.

Most of the arrests were for drug possession, use and distribution, police said.

Tourism officials had estimated 75,000 fans would be coming to the coastal Virginia city. Nearly 200 law enforcement officers worked the weekend event, with the Vermont-based band picking up the tab.

What are even worse are the pics of them. Makes me want to not shower and live in a van with other smelly people and a dog with the runs again.

Okay, let's do them math....$1.2 mil in drugs busted from 194 Phans, let's see that's $6185 in drugs per person....damn, they must get some wicked s**t up there in Virginia! Plus then they confiscated $68,000 from those same 194 Phans, that comes to an average of $350 per Phan, just how much does a tour shirt cost at a Phish show?

Phish at Fenway?

Could Phish be gigging at Fenway? Neither Live Nation nor the band's rep would confirm it yesterday, but there's a lot of online chatter about a possible Phish fest at Fenway. The band, which is about to head out on the road for the first time in five years, is slated to kick things off at Jones Beach in New York June 4 and 5, followed by a show at the Comcast Center June 6. But we're hearing that Trey Anastasio, et al., may be bound for Boston May 31, which is the night after the Dave Matthews Band wraps up its two-night stand at the ballpark.

PhIsH successfully SOLD OUT all FOUR NIGHTS at RED ROCKS in record time!

All 4 nights sold out within 5 minutes total (some have said 3 minutes total).

I was going to try to get tix for one night.

Was on point THE SECOND the onsale started.

Within one second, the ticketba$tards put me on an INSTANT 15 minute wait.

I have bought tickets for all sorts of shows throughout the years.

PHISH at RED ROCKS is toward the top of QUICKEST. SELL OUT. EVER.

Needless to say, plenty of parasites on ebay now selling tix for shows they never wanted to see in the first place. ba$tards!

Very cool.. and not unusual for a band to do. U2 wrote a big check before leaving Somerville to cover the cost of police, etc. so that the city wouldn't have to foot the bill for when the 'circus' came to town. 8)

And the government of Somerville thanks them. :D :D
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
