Hi,
Please give this guy a listen and consider bringing him in to Higher Ground for a show. I heard him last summer and he rocks. In case you've never heard of him, he is a ukele player from Hawaii who gets rave reviews wherever he plays. I can't put into words what a magician he is with his ukele, you have to see and hear him to believe it.

Check out his version of the George Harrison classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" , the Led Zepplin classic "Going to California" and other videos of his performances at Youtube. I promise you you won't be disapointed.

He's in New England this spring, please consider adding him to the HG schedule.

Thanks,
Chris

Woo Hoo....I can't wait :D
Very Cool! I tried to convince Stowe Performing Arts to put him on their "Music in the Meadow" series as they've had Natalie McMaster and other soloists. They didn't think "He could carry a whole show" Morons.
I wish I had some vacation time left I'd take that entire week off!! :D But I'll be there for sure!
Did you see who they've announced for the summer series at Shelburne Farms?
David Byrne of the Talking Heads, Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin & Buddy Miller in June , Jackson Browne , and the Tragically Hip in July My concert calendar is starting to fill up :D
Recognize the names but not familiar with any of the music except Jackson Browne.

Just got home from the show....man can that guy wail!!!....and what a decent guy. I took a copy of the email I sent asking for HG to bring Jake to VT. After the show we bought his new LIVE CD and when we got to the front of the line I handed him the email and asked if he'd sign it. I expected a quick signature and maybe a picture......no, he actually took the time to read it, and then gave me this look and said " Dude, that is so awesome. Man, that means a lot to me." and then signed the email, personalizing it and thanking me. He then stuck out his hand to shake mine and when I took his, he pulled me in for a hug. :o Marilyn took a picture of the two of us and when we walked away Marilyn remarked she really thought he was touched by the email....
What a great night. We have pictures and video, and I'll get a picture of the email he signed.

I will second what Chris said. I watched Jake sign autographs for a while and he really took time with each individual, listening to what they had to say and making personal comments. He even pulled in a few shy ones for photos and you should have seen their smiles. A wonderful artist and a really really nice guy.

I look forward to him coming back here!
