Concert Collectors: What do you collect?
Here's a question that's been rollin around in my head. These comments by our FTP-fillin phriend ChzHeadParrothead in another thread got me wondering. I've noticed some Type-A, OCD-like traits in some parrotheads, especially concert collectors (myself included). Collecting every single concert could be a life-long effort. I've landed somewhere less than that with many special concerts (ie; oldies from 70s/80s, Margaritaville openings, small/acoustic venues, Millenium Show, etc.) and all of those I've attended.

I'm only interested in the ones I have attended and maybe the occasional special show. That's about it.

I usuallly follow that same train of thought, I really am interested only in the shows i actually attended unless it's something special or at a special venue. Hearing the show you know you were at brings back fond, but usually fuzzy and somewhat blurred memories

I like to get as many of the shows I've been to as I can. Other than that, if someone like SunLover uploads a show I didn't go to, I'll cherry pick songs I don't have live versions of so I can fill out the playlist I created on my iPod of pairs of studio recordings and live versions of songs.

I sort the songs alphabetically by title so the live and studio recordings of each song are together.

I seem to be with the majority of the people. I like to collect the concerts I have been to, but there are those special acoustic shows and some of the 1970's that I really like also.

I collect Buffett shows (audio and video) regardless if I've been to it or not. He'd better retire soon, I'm running out of hard drive space

I set up a "RAID" configuration.

Re: Concert Collectors: What do you collect?
Just the "special" ones.
The special ones to me are, of course, ones I've attended, and ones like the millenium concert, or at places like London, Paris, Anguilla, etc. (And if he ever goes to Australia again).
I'm sure there's no way I could ever get a copy of my very first concert (1987), so I'm content with the ones I have and the ones people send me.
Apparently I have the disease too.

There are 2 from 1987 on the Jokelben FTP server. Are 6/30 or 7/04 what you are looking for?Wino you know wrote: I'm sure there's no way I could ever get a copy of my very first concert (1987)

I was hoping for one from August 31, 1987. My very first Jimmy Buffett concert.

That's an elusive show. I've looked around on all the sources I know and nothing.Wino you know wrote:I was hoping for one from August 31, 1987. My very first Jimmy Buffett concert.
