What is the TABC and why would they be interested in spoiling tailgates?
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission

They are the 800 lb gorillas that wield a lot of power in Texas. Like my friend with the Wood County Sheriff's office said, "You don't grow up wanting to be a TABC officer. It's where good officers go when they go bad."

I can't speak for the ones in the Metroplex, but the ones in my neck of the woods are notorious for acting like Jackboot Nazis and scaring the daylights out of people ... and liking the power trip. They're being sued for several raids in 2004-5. Cases are just now coming to court and, man, they are ugly.

They are why Mr. Mojito and I don't drink at bars in our area anymore. Period.

at the risk of seeming more of a ba$tard than usual...

one: your spelling is atrocious. kinda hard to take someone seriously when they can't spell Frisco
two: so this the first annual/third time around party.. this just a chance to drink until you can't stand and miss the concert, or are any of the proceeds going toward a worthy cause?
three: email? hell, if it's important enough to need clarification, just post here and build your base.

going to take a pass on this one for two reasons: not going to be in TX this year, and the FFF has the kharmic plus of being more than just a chance to be knee-walking, face-down-in-the-pavement, puking-six-colours-of-green drunk prior to a concert. Others, their mileage may vary.
R2 you're slipping!

You missed the opportunity for point #4.

The is no such thing as a "first annual" event. It is a "inaugural" event, followed by a "2nd annual" event. :pirate:

Mike, hope you have a great tailgate, but I've got a lot of respect for the organizers on the BN tailgate down in Texas. While I've never been, they raise money for a great cause and have the most organized tailgate that I've seen.

No need to compete with them, but you'd probably receive a warmer reception if you invited the mobile leaky teaky to make a stop at your gathering during it's trip around the lot.

Regardless, Phins Up! and enjoy the show.

I know I'm coming very late to this discussion, but this post really torques my jaw. High horse? Ah, no, ph4ever tried to very politely give you some background info on the this board and some of our fundraising efforts. Your response is, frankly, incredibly rude. This isn't just a public board. It's a group of people who get together and who participate in all kinds of fundraising efforts. I'm going to stop now because if I continue typing I'll probably say something I'll live to regret........... :-?

Welcome mike, and please don't let any one spoil your fun. Most people or cool (always a few flys in the ointment). Your go for you gathering and enjoy it. I was at the FFF party a few years back (last one at the Dallas venue) and even though i paid they had a way of making you feel like a outsider and was not to nice to our group then. We brought 3 virgins, so have been careful about paying to join any group again. But hope to find you there and share in some of that fun

I can see how you draw nothing but those kind words and overwhelming love from all you meet. The Dalai Lama called, said he wants more of your lessons on winning friends and influencing people.

There's always 3 sides to every story. Each side has their version of the events and then there's what really happened. 8)

Oh, my gosh. I'm sorry you feel that way about Hoot Island. It was my all-time favorite phlocking - rain and all. I met the PHarms. Al-a-Bastard showed up, unannounced. SGH thought someone had died when Al showed up. Santa wore a hula skirt. I met PHritz and Wes. Conululu was there. She and Auntie got scepters and crowns. We did gift bags for everyone. I got the show poster at the end of the night. AngelBeech brought a TikiBar. My 74 year-old mother went down the water slide - TWICE. And that girl passed out by the hot tub. Did you miss that? It was hilarious. Oh, yeah ... my mom walked in on someone rockin' the RV ... she is still laughing about that!

It's funny you would mention that we weren't friendly. I spent 30 minutes talking to a couple ... fed them ... got them drinks ... bags, etc. The guy told me he was from Hooters ... and would get some Hooters girls for the next party, but when I called the number he gave me, it was bogus.

I wish I had met you and your group, especially the virgins. The ones we knew about got a special tour of the parking lot.

Missed opportunities all the way around.
