Boat Drinks

Reading about M-ville coming out with Rum got me thinking. I've always enjoyed the typical Captain and Coke and do enjoy the occasional rum and tonic. But I've been hunting for a long time for a rum drink that doesn't have carbonation. Sure, I can make a hurricane or a rum runner, but they call for so many ingredients that if I get the urge for one I usually have to run to the store.

So, turning to my Parrothead brethren for suggestions.....WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RUM DRINK, or any cocktail for that matter, that doesn't have carbonation and is SIMPLE to make (yes, I have the drink book from Margaritaville already).

And anyone that can give a good recipe (and simple) for rum punch, thanks to you!

Simplest rum punch recipe I can think of:

In a chimney glass, add ice, a jigger of rum, and fill with Dole (or similar) orange-pineapple juice. Stir, garnish, enjoy.

If you want to get fancy, add a squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops of grenadine syrup.

Zero carbonation, one hundred percent aaaaaahhhhhh.....

thanks for the feedback. question for Layla - about the coconut cream....anything in particular? i tried to make painkillers a few weeks back but the coconut cream was so darn thick that it just sat in clumps in the drink. couldn't stir it in. i may have gone wrong of course. any particular type you recommend?

The first time I made it the smae thing happened. Now I just put the ingredients in a bowl ( I have been doing 8X the ingredients to last me all day) and used my electric mixer. Then they turned out great!

But I think this recipe would be just as good! I am gonna try it tomorrow after work. What is grenadine syrup though?
