If you every have to opportunity to, you should try Delirium Tremens. It is a fairly strong Belgian ale thats served in an either 18 or 20 oz bottle, I don't remember which. Mind you this cost me about $20.00 in a local bar last week but its a very good beer (ale). Have a few of these and you will be seeing the pink elephants on the bottle

I went to the New York Auto Show last year and looked at the sticker price on a Ferrari. Didn't mean I was thinking of buying it.

Exactly, LANDSHARK is in kegs now so is cruise ship friendly.

Now, mind you, I haven't been on a cruize ship in over two decades, but...


To date I've only seen Landshark in bottles.

The rule of the waves had always been "Anything on a boat(or ship) must be a can"

I doubt that's changed. Bare feet and broken glass don't mix well....

It's in kegs now, too, so I guess a cruise ship could have it on tap.

What can I say except to each his own. Personally we prefer the taste of Landshark. Now that it is in kegs we hope to find it in the bars of various cruiselines. If not, we'll be sailing to ports with Margaritavilles and will happily buy it there.

Those of you who do not like Landshark, enjoy the brands of your choice.

OK all I got one for you since spring and summer are coming....

Next time you have a Landshark (or Corona) (especially if you are one of the many who aren't sold on it), open the bottle, take small swig, pour in one shot of decent tequila (not great but not Cuervo-I prefer Sauza Hornitos or Don Julio Silver), add slice of lime, thumb it, flip it, then try it again. I have served this to many friends who don't like LS or Corona and to friends who don't like tequila. 9 out of 10 come back for a second or third...not usually a fourth but you get my drift. If you do try it please let me know your thoughts...also I am trying to think of a name for this concoction any thoughts?

Landshark was made with the specific purpose of competing with Corona. Now, as to why Corona, a beer made in Mexico, yet costs the same as a world class beer such, as Spaten from Munich, is beyond me. Spaten uses the finest German two row barley, Hallertau hops and alpine spring water. Corona uses some kind of cheap-ass Mexican barley, diluted with rice, corn, and who knows what else. As for the water, well, have you heard of Montezuma’s revenge? To cap it off, it's from freakin' Mexico? Buy a VW Rabbit made in Mexico for $20K and buy the same car in Germany for $32K. In all sincerity, Carona should cost somewhere in the range of $2.50 a six pack, if that.

Booze isn't priced for what it costs. It's priced for what it can get. Grey Goose is as expensive as it is not because it was more expensive to make than Absolut or won more awards than Absolut or anything like that. When Grey Goose was introduced, Absolut was the dominant vodka, and so the marketing genius behind Grey Goose figured if he made it more expensive than Absolut, people would think it was better than Absolut and buy it. He was right.

I'm sure the only major difference between how they make Bud and Bud Light and how they make Landshark is one extra step: when they write the royalty check to JB. That alone makes it more expensive to make.

Yep! We're on the same page! That's why I mentioned Carona's SUPERB advertizing regarding their price and...

That would be the Loaded Land Shark

1 12 oz. bottle of Land Shark Lager
1 oz Margaritaville Island Lime

Pour an ounce of Margaritaville Island Lime Tequila into beer bottle. Put your thumb over the top of the bottle, flip bottle upside down and back. Take a swig and enjoy!

Guinness is a stout; it's about as far from a Landshark as you can get and still remain in the beer family.
It's also an acquired taste, much like drinking a good single-malt Scotch.
Can't speak for (what was that other one?) Yuengling.

Yuengling is 10 times better than Landshark. And here on LI it's a lot cheaper, about $11 for a 12 pack instead of $8.99 for 6.

along the lines of the loaded corona, here's what one of the bartender's at my local watering hole drinks in the summer:

Take a pint glass, fill with ice, pour in a shot of citrus vodka, then fill the glass with equal parts Mike's Hard Lemonade and Twisted Tea.

If your tastes vary, you can always switch the vodka with a citrus rum or tequila.
