ever have one of these wonderful tests??? i just got back from having one performed on my right leg with a few "test spots" on my left. my hip all the way to my toes hurt from being zapped with increasing current or prodded with needles in my nerves. UGH!!!
who thought of this wonderful test??? and to think that i have a co-pay of 250 for this!!
i'm not in servere pain now but my poor leg just feels tenderized and to boot the area in my hip that got injured from a car cash years back just feels GREAT!!
prognosis: most likely nerve from L-5 has some minor loss...
if you've had this test, what has been your experience? i know that anyone who has nerve damage in one's wrist might have this test. thank god i got to lie down for it.

is that like the test that you lie down and a series of dots etc. flashes in front of you to test your (im)balance...inner ear damage?? i've had that one also..not fun when you have vertigo.

Oh, no, this is the big brother to the dots-in-front-of-your-eyes tilt table... This one they strap you to the table (because otherwise you're going to fall off when you pass out ), then wire you up with EKGs and bring you upright. If you don't completely pass out from that they lay you back down and inject medication (I forget the name) that duplicates what your body sometimes does on its own, then bring you back upright and *poof* lights out.... What actually happens on the EKG is that your BP drops to zero, your heart stops, and then starts again. They never did figure out why or how to fix it.... And clearly, each time it's happened so far, my ticker has decided to restart on it's own...
