Re: PETA wants the Pet Shop Boys to change name to...
Come on PETA, there's a hell of a lot more pressing issues than this...
It's ridiculous crap like this (and the letter asking Ben and Jerry to use human milk in their ice cream) that makes PETA lose all credibility to me.

The CNN article states PETA conceded its request at first blush, might appear "bizarre" How about a second and third blush too?
WTF is wrong with these people?
I am a proud member of PETA- People Eating Tasty Animals
As the song goes "I like mine with Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes" and we all know that not a tofu burger that is being sung about.

The fact that they "rescued" thousands of pets from a kill shelter only to kill them didn't make them lose credibility before?SharkOnLand wrote:Come on PETA, there's a hell of a lot more pressing issues than this...![]()

Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.
I accept the new found man, and I set the twilight reeling.

PeTA and most of the other 'activist' animal rescue/animal rights groups never had that much credibility to lose in the first place.

PETA is more annoyed with fur than with leather because it's easier to hassle old women in furs than it is to hassle bikers.
I'm tempted to write a song titled something like "I like taking my cat for a walk," just so that I can get a headline out of PETA trying to get me to change the name. Idiots.

And they (PeTA and their ilk, that is) never seem to learn!
Harassing the dog breeder who sold the Bidens their puppy.
Is it possible for PeTA to score a negative rating on the approval meter? If they keep pulling crap like this, we'll soon find out.

"Not counting animals PETA held only temporarily in its spay-neuter program, the organization took in 3,061 "companion animals" in 2006, of which it killed 2,981. According to Virginia's Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), the average euthanasia rate for humane societies in the state was just 34.7 percent in 2006. PETA killed 97.4 percent of the animals it took in."Coconuts wrote:The fact that they "rescued" thousands of pets from a kill shelter only to kill them didn't make them lose credibility before?SharkOnLand wrote:Come on PETA, there's a hell of a lot more pressing issues than this...![]()

So in Virginia at least:
PETA .... euthanasia rate 97%
humane societies ..... euthanasia rate 34.7%
I'll bet Virginian Michael Vick's dog death rate was lower than both. Obviously not condoning his cruelty, but hey, digg.com, PETA and everyone else like to throw out statistics.
