If this helps, it's on 52 St between Broadway and 8th Ave. Gallagher's Steak House is next door and the Roseland Ballroom is across the street.

The local Mexican place (real Mexican, not Americanized Mexican) that has a "buffett" sign in their window.
Many people spell Buffett's name wrong, these people got it backwards.

But they've got damn good food.

Americanized Mexican, Tex-Mex? by authentic are you referring to their using ...hmmm some innards in preparing some foods?
I'll take Tex-Mex any day over authentic.

The Island Grille in Islamorada is FINtastic with great food and tropical atmosphere. The view is awesome.
The cracked conch, grouper, and snapper sandwiches are all awesome.
I love Porky's just north of the 7 Mile Bridge. The place has a very rustic/nautical look. Entertainment by Rocketman is great and the pork is great.
Locally it's tough since there are so many good ones.
I like Mango Mangos on A1A in St. Augustine.
The Outback Crab Shack near St. Augustine is great for a Buffettesque atmosphere and going to by boat but the food aint so great. However the beer is ice cold and the waitresses have big racks on display.
La Nopalera near my home is the best mexican I've had in the U.S.
The Matanzas Inlet Restaurant in Crescent Beach, Fl. has a great view as well as snook sandwich.
All good places and just writing this makes me yearn to return!!!

There was this Mexican restaurant in Orange Beach, right near the Winn Dixie on Perdido Beach Boulevard which wasn't bad. Up here it's Fagmilia di Spagnolio in the North End that is great.

It's Mexican food like you would expect at an authentic Mexican restaurant in Mexico. Not like you'd find at your local On The Border or similar Mexican chain.
