Re: Your Birthday = Discuss

Every year since my wife and I were dating, we would make each other our favorite birthday cakes for our birthday's. The running joke was I made a great cake year after year (I even had to buy a bunt pan no less) and she messed mine up for two or three years straight. (I like just a regular old cake with frosting). I don't get too excited about the day. I mean it's nice I made it another year but it is not all about me. I'm just happy to celebrate it with my kids sitting in my lap trying to blow out the candles and asking if they can open my gifts.
I had 3 birthdays in a row with surprise parties (16th-18th) so I'm probably at my limit. My 21st birthday I celebrated by going to fridge, getting a beer, and sitting down to finish studying for a final (damn December b-day). This year is my 40th and while a big party with friends would be nice, a relaxing dinner at a good restaurant would work too. Or going to a Capitals hockey game.
