We all live in a Yellow Submarine
We hate the darn thing
We want to paint it green
(Sorry couldn't resist )
Jimmy likes to do covers as a tribute to the original artists... I think I could probably live with this one over Glory Days (for one it's much shorter )

perhaps the tour after George Harrison died, ok. Unless he has Utley kak McCartney, it's not a tribute.
i hate this song. if this were the only cover song of the night then fine, but until that happens its just another slot were a jimmy buffett song can be played.
"I enjoy this life as a jester
Seems to keep me moving around
Like the wind that blows, tides that flow
I have my ups and downs"
I didn't care for it at first, but when I listened to the show tonight, it sounded like they were having a lot of fun doing it. Would I rather hear a Buffett song? You bet! It's our party, but it's his show, and I will be singing and dancing till the very end!!

Bring me the hot sauce, bring me a beer. Going to be the last man standing, but where do you go from here?
I liked it. There are probably at least 1/2 dozen songs from the standard setlist he could drop that I wouldn't miss if he wanted to keep doing Yellow Submarine.

Since I have been playing guitar, I have realized just how many songs he does are cover songs. One day I will make a list of which songs are actually written by Jimmy vs. covered by Jimmy. Not that I mind his covered stuff, but many songs such as Defying Gravity, God's Own Drunk, Take the Weather With You, and Stories We Could Tell, to name a few, are all covers he did.
Seems to me that Jimmy won a lawsuit brought against him over God's own Drunk.
He even wrote a song about it called The a**hole & the Lawyer. Or is that a cover too?

It's the only Planet that has chocolate.
I have attended both the Atlanta and Charlotte shows this year and actually love Jimmy's version of 'Yellow Submarine'. It is much better than his covers of the past, i.e. 'Glory Days'.
Sometimes I ask myself, why, with all that is available, why that song. I guess the answer is because JB likes it, which is usually good enough, in this case however, I will continue to say why. I didn't like it the first time, and I will never like it, guess that is the why.

Exactly! In Frisco they were having a great time and each night it seems to take on its own FLAIR! ...especially when everyone is laughing at Jimmy for singing the wrong words.

"Everybody Must Get Stoned" was the one right? I agree with you on that too...it just didn't work for some reason.
I *really* disliked this one, too (Rainy Day Women). And yet I had to grudgingly admit that it got the crowd going and they seemed to love it, so I understood why it stayed in the show even though I didn't care for it.
I wonder why... I stick with my first statement: the Dylan cover (while the audience loved shouting out, "everybody must get stoned...") and now Yellow Submarine are 3-5 minute slots that could be filled with a Buffett written/recorded song. Hell, a live cut of "Here We Are" with Billy Payne backing Utley on keyboards would be incredible and a lot better use of the time.
OMG.... the earth just tilted on its axis and the sun is threatening to rise in the west.... RR and I are in full agreement....
