the rumor is started because if you google "Newport Folk Festival 2009" two of the first websites you find list this year's dates, but have last year's line up. Everyone listed played last year. I found an article on American Songwriter that said they were renaming it "The (original promoter's name) Festival 50" or something like that and it is going to be a 50th anniversary celebration featuring the artist that SGH listed, plus Pete Seeger and Joan Baez

It's renamed because it's under new management. Or rather, back under George Wein's original management.

On the Sunday of last year we had gorgeous weather, sun and a nice breeze...for little ones sunblock would be a given!

Absolutely! Bring your beach/camp chairs and sit toward the back of the crowd to give the little ones room to run around, and you'll have a fabulous day!
