you ever been to a race?? I am guessing not.........

Funny thing is, it is almost similar to going to a Buffett show, and I dont mean the drinking, outdoorsness, etc. What I mean is, that until you actually go to a race, you never really experience it properly. Like going to a Buffett show. My wife used to make fun of the whole Buffett thing, until I got her to go to a show. After her first time she was hooked!

I still haven't figured out what's supposedly so negative about the other thread.
it isn't kool-aid-ey enough
I guess that we all have songs that arent are favorites, but I mean really, how many times do we need to a read a post the XYZ BN member goes to the bathroom or gets a beer during CIP or BEG......we get it, some people dont like certain songs. For me those songs are Pencil Thin Mustouche and Grapefruit/Juicy Fruit..........but why do go on and on about what songs we dont like.

I just thought it would be nice to talk about which songs he plays, that are our favorites that he always plays at each show.
and rather than do a short search for "Hey Everybody!!! What's your favourite Buffett song at a concert!!!!" thread and tacking your response there, it's necessary to start yet another one about it, and then claim "i was just fighting the negativity in that other one"...

I don't get it, unless it is a combination of being too lazy to search, and too self-centered to be part of a thread and starting one of your own that duplicates effort unnecessarily.

I will go with being self centered.........I appologize for my insensitivity

SOASOAS is always good to hear. And I've always loved Penci Thin. I wish he'd play Boat Drinks more actually. That's it. The rest of 'em? Nahhh. Yeah - even Margaritaville could take a break.

Great Heart to open every show? I remember when he opened with Havana Daydreamin' and I thought that was his best ever. Great Heart has been done to death as an opener.

How long has the Hot Hot Hot intro been going? 8 years now?

Ha ha. If it ain't broke don't change it. Well at least he's playing new songs.

So there you have it - a "POSITIVE" (also known as WHINE) post - keep SOASOAS and Pencil Thin and Boat Drinks. Too bad he doesn't do the last 2 anymore.

Hey Larry, (LIPH) great hearing you say that people should move on to topics that interest them. My thoughts exactly. However I always wonder why you lurk in the landshark threads firing unfavorable opinions and puns about the beer. :)

Universal constant. Water is wet, sky is blue, the atomic weight of any element in grams will contain 6.02*10^23 atoms of that substance.

Because although I disagree, many people consider Landshark to be beer. I have an interest in beer. And I don't tell people who talk about Landshark that they're having a "stupid discussion" just because I don't agree with what they're saying.

Well, there are songs that are going to stay on the set list because those are the songs that made Jimmy Buffett as popular as he is. Not sure if there is one (or more) song that I would say is a MUST play. I'm there to have a good time.

I guess we can't wish for Pencil Thin or Grapefruit or WDWGRAS to stay in the set list since neither of them have been in for a while.

y'know, other than BEG, I don't care what he plays. It's always entertaining and exciting. I just soak up the entire experience and not worry that I've heard them all before or didn't hear a particular favorite. That's why I have all the vinyls, 8-tracks, cassettes, and CDs that he's ever put out. If I miss one of my favorites, I'll just pop it in and listen to it on the way back from the concert (the next day  ). I'd love to hear some of the more "obscure" songs that I've come to love, but that would be a bummer for some of the newer fans. :wench:

You need to explain why him playing some obscure songs vs. some obscure songs would be a bummer for the new fans. That makes no sense. If they're new fans they're glad to be there and to hear anything. What, are they expecting Alan Jackson to show up for 5 O'Clock?

Because newer fans might not know some of the more obscure songs, and they want to hear him play some of the songs that they are familiar with.
